Union
We are leaving for the “Taipei Daily-Use Grocery Union” in order to understand how grocery stores cooperate with each other. For the interview,we contact with the president HONG-CHUN,JIAN,and he’s also the boss of Jin-Chi-Chang store. He’s very kind and generous,and he shares something about Dihua Street we have ever know.Dihua Street is located in a convenient situation,and it’s the most prosperous commercial center of Taipei. They are thinking of how to get grocery stores closer,and communicate with the government. They decide to establish the “Taipei Daily-Use Grocery Union” since 52th year of the Republic Era.
Functions of the Union
The president HONG-CHUN,JIAN tell us that quantity and categories of goods were controlled by the government. Those gocery stores want to control goods by themselves and build a bridge to communicate with the government,so they establish the Union. In this way,they can collect everybody’s opinions to tell the government what they want by the Union,and they will cooperate with each other instead of competition.

Grocery stores canimport anything they want up to themselves now. When every festivals are coming,like Moon Festival and Chinese New Year, the Union is playing an important role of different activities.They also hold some activities for their colleagues to learn and get closer.

Organization of the Union and qualifications of join
The gocery stores join the Union which are less than before. If you want to join the Union,you just need a license about selling groceries.There are 24 officers in the Union,supervisors and presidents. They are voted three times a year by members,and they ususally have a meet to discuss something important once three months.

When they talk about the reason why grocery stores are decreasing,they think of the extension of convenience stores are main reasons. Even the activity of News Year's shopping in Dihua Street is bustling and famous onTV,the Dihua Street isn’s prosperous than before.
The “Taipei Daily-Use Grocery Union” gather grocery stores’ power,and they hope cultures of groceries which can be known and respected by different activities.Let’s get together to make Dihua Street more and more prosperous.
