Bagua Garden Grand Hotel

Situated on Guangfu Road, leading up to Changhua Train Station, is a row of archaic-looking buildings with quite a history.

Together, occupying literally half the length of the street, these buildings were once the Bagua Garden Grand Hotel (see map g2).

Bagua Garden Grand Hotel during the 60s and the 70s, in terms of quality, was equivalent to the typical contemporary five-star hotel, and, being the largest hotel in Changhua at the time, only accommodated persons of substantial social standing.

But, with the passage of time, Bagua Garden Grand Hotel is no longer in business, and instead the buildings are now leased to other individual business parties. Only the leftmost building has completely retained the original architectural design, by which alone we are able to imagine the extravagance of the whole of Bagua Garden Grand Hotel during its prime.
