Afterthoughts of the teachers

It’s amazing and wonderful! At the very beginning of the Cyberfair project, I had no idea how to lead them in research and field trips. After some preparatory work and brainstorming, we came up with the theme of the A-Zen Bakery, and started to do research. Although some students considered to quit in the middle of the project, we had stuck till the end, and shared the same glory of a team. Kids, I’m so proud of you, and wish a big success for this project so the world can see us in Changhua, Taiwan.

Before joining in the Cyberfair project, A-Zen Bakery was nothing more than a bustling bakery where customers swarm in and out all the time. Thanks to the interviews with Mr. Cheng, we, as teachers and students, realized that a successful man should have a clear conscience apart from business acumen and strategies.  Seeing students put forth concerted efforts to complete the project, and fight for the glory of the team, I hope they can keep this enthusiasm in the future, and always be an active learner in school as well as in life.

I was nicknamed as “A-Zen meat baozi” because one word of my name pronounced similarly with “Cheng”. What a coincidence that today we would pick A-Zen Bakery as the theme for the Cyberfair project. I joined this project with delight and excitement, and would like to thank all the support from the principal, and chiefs of the administrative staff. For an educational worker, the happiness comes from seeing growth in our students, and I’ve done it.

Conclusions

The food safety crisis happened when we were working on the Cyberfair project. There was so much news regarding food additive issues that made people feel unsecured with outside food; however, there are still many conscientious food business owners in Taiwan who care for this land and help people who are in need.

The way Mr. Cheng acts makes people feel comfortable, and he let us watch their production process and food ingredients, unlike some other factories. A-Zen Bakery makes people feel secure for this reason. In the store, the chefs were busy making meat buns, and like Din Tai Fung Restaurant, everything regarding the production is open to the public, for providing peace of mind to consumers.

Mr. Cheng is a good example of the industry. Even though it is only a small shop, his insistence in using healthy ingredients and caring for customers’ health is very respectable.
