After contacting for an interview appointment, we searched and organized information, designed interview outlines, and prepared well for the interview. In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person. In the research process, students who grew up in the countryside not only contacted local farmers to obser

In the project, the students, growing in rural areas, personally interviewed Mr. Cheng, the employees, and his children, in order to understand Mr. Cheng’s philosophy of “Plebeian Gourmet”. Besides learning more about the production of the steamed buns, the students were also impressed by Mr. Cheng’s sharing of his philosophy of life. Based on the spirit of “Give back to society”, the students and Mr. Cheng visited Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Children’s Home in Lukang Township for a charity event. The students learned that a small steamed bun is not only food on the table, but it can be a warm touch to the disadvantaged. Raise up the light a little and you can light up more people. The students are inspired that through love, the world keeps moving.

*What is the impact of the project in your community?

Food is very important in our daily life. The economic development has brought wealth to society; people have changed their requirement of food from filling stomachs to being delicious and delicate. For attracting customers, all food businesses have tried to enhance the color, smell, and taste of their food products. In order to reduce costs and improve taste, many businesses choose to add chemicals to food, which worries consumers in regards to food safety. A-zen’s Steamed Pork Buns insists on keeping food plain without any chemicals, making fresh and healthy food with real ingredients, and selling just-made food products; the strict self-requirement makes A-zen’s Steamed Pork Buns a successful business. After succeeding in business, Mr. Cheng still regularly visits the orphanage and helps the disadvantaged. To follow Mr. Cheng’s loving heart, we played the ocarina for the children in orphanage on Christmas Eve, wishing them to grow up peacefully and joyfully.

*Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises.

Through the project, we discovered that the process of an ordinary steamed bun could contain such great knowledge. From the raw ingredients, adjusting proportions, fermentation time, steam time, and others, as long as there is an error, the entire process has to be started over. The steamed buns taste great due to so many complicated steps. In the course of DIY steamed buns, we experimented with filling the stuffing into dough. We tried many times but never succeeded. Mr. Cheng said that it takes half a year just for most apprentices to practice making a perfect bun of 16 folds. Also, in his free time, Mr. Cheng likes to read, surf the Internet, listen to music, and learn knowledge in different fields, which teaches us passion and insistence. In the interview with employees, we learned that Mr. Cheng treats the employees as his own and everyone with sincerity, and is willing to impart his knowledge and help the disadvantaged. We have learned a lot from his humble attitude towards people.
