Grandpa Dong is from Shandong. He always seasoned the meal with garlic and onions in daily dining.
He would prepare 10 Shandong steamed bun, rice cakes, and dumplings in Chinese New Year. Preparing 20 dumplings is needed,
then put 8 coins, put 8 candies, and put 8 Chinese red dates. In this time, what kind of dumpling you would eat will depend on your luck!
Grandma Tian’s husband comes from Zhejiang Province, and they like to eat the food with a little bit sweet sauce.
There is a specialty in Chinese New Year which is Dumpling fried rice cake and Chinese sausage.
According to local culture, people need to make dumplings before 12 o’clock, and boil it after 12 o’clock to welcome a new year.
