In general, adults grew plants and flowers, played Chinese Chess, sang songs, played the mahjong or read books and newspaper, and children played in the river, played marbles, pokers, Taiwanese bamboo dragonfly, kites and throw the small bags which contained sands by hand making at their leisure.

During the Chinese New year, children often did some activities. For example, they played firecrackers, sparklers, and torches. And adults sometimes played pokers and mahjong. Because there were only a few people had the television at home in that time, villagers always went to those people’s house to watch baseball games.
