Teacher Yi-ning Wang has been the instructor of the Sanyu Choir since 2005, and this year will be the 7th year. Before this, the choir was only a talent club for students to freely participate in. However, it has now grown and matured under the care and experience of Teacher Yi-ning.
When Teacher Yi-ning first began instructing the choir in 2005, performing was still the main goal for the group. In addition to set, on-campus performances (New Student Welcoming events, Christmas, Children’s Day, and Mother’s Day), the choir also looked for places nearby where they could perform (Takashimaya and Eslite Book Store). Student members ranged anywhere between the third and sixth grades.
However, after three years of preparation, in 2008, Teacher Yi-ning decided to have the choir participate in the official Taipei City chorus contests. Because of this, the entire management style of the choir underwent significant changes. The members had to be filtered and selected, with the choir being divided into the “official choir” and the “preparatory choir.” The “Choir Parents Support Group” was also formed to assist with performing relative tasks.

What is the most unique characteristic of the Sanyu Choir? Sanyu Choir’s most unique characteristic is “Love!” Because of “Love,” Teacher Yi-ning has made every possible effort to lead the choir students to earn high marks in competitions, giving everybody a strong sense of achievement! Because of “Love,” all choir members have been able to bear the heat of summer and the tiredness of winter, doing their utmost meet the requirements set forth by the instruction. Because of “Love,” the parents in the Parents Support Group are always willing to pull up their sleeves to give all the members of the choir the best caretaking possible! It is also because of “Love,” that the Sanyu Choir has been able to become one of the best performing teams in Taipei City in just a few short years (we even jumped a level when registering and went straight for division-A!).

Establishment of the club
The predecessor of the Sanyu Choir was a talent club that people could freely participate in. Teacher Wei-chi Sun, Teacher Shu-chen Huang, and Teacher Wei-li Fu all, at one time or another, served as the instructor for the choir. In the 2005 school year, Teacher Yi-ning Wang began serving as the instructor for the choir, and has now been at the job for the 7th year.
Club Members

In addition, one month before the chorus competition each year, the outside teacher, Teacher Yong-yin Chen, is hired to serve as the accompaniment teacher twice a week, and for one period each time, all the way until the end of that semester’s competition. Throughout the duration of the competition, additional practices are also sometimes held.
The Club’s Future
In recent years, competitions have been the main focus for the Sanyu Choir, while other events that it has participated in have mostly been event inside the school. Melodious voices are always able to move people’s hearts, which is why chorus performances are an absolutely indispensable part of large-scale school performances events.
In the hearts of those who have once been a part of the Sanyu Choir, it is undoubtedly a place that they will always love in their hearts! We have revolutionary emotion and a mutual goal, and even alumni who had graduated many years ago still go through various channels to encourage their current successors to continue to work hard to extend our exceptional tradition! As the famous Chinese sayings go, “One minute on-stage takes ten years of practice off-stage,” and “you reap what you sow” - Teacher Yi-ning Wang encourages all members of the choir to insist on your dreams, and go all out in achieving them!
