The Xiluo Street Parade

Arriving at our school early in the morning, we excitedly put together the props we would need for our street parade performance.

At noon, as we boarded our transportation bus, the excitement slowly turned into nervousness.

Upon arriving at the venue, we not only saw the majestic Xiluo Bridge, but also hoards of enormous kites high up in the skies.

There are no vehicles on the street now, which is instead filled with masses of people, and because of the crowdedness, we were obliged to begin our performance right in the middle of the street, nevertheless, we drew a crowd of spectators.

After the event formally commenced, there were not only all kind of people and performers in the crowds, but also many journalists and photographers, and we were fortunate enough to attract a lot of attention.

When we reached the square, we stood on the side to watch others perform, all the while practicing our own steps.

On the stage, although we were still quite nervous, we put forth our best and danced to our heart’s content, who would’ve known the stereo would malfunction? We stared at each other, unsure what to do, but fortunately the music quickly came back on, and we were able to carry on with our dance.

After our performance, we relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the show, and were most impressed by the performance “Wash Wash” put on by Xiyang Junior High School.

On our way home, the sunset out the window seemed so much more brilliant then usual.
