1. Description of Our Community
Banqiao, the most populous district (about 554,000 people) in New Taipei City, is located at the confluence of the Tahan River and Xindian River. From Banqiao, people crossing the Tahan River will arrive in Xinzhuang District, and people crossing the Xindian River will arrive in Taipei City. Banqiao is also close to Taipei Songshan Airport and Chiang Kai-shek International Airport. Being the political and economic center of New Taipei City, Banqiao is a prosperous district with a modern and well-connected transport system. New Banqiao Station, a landmark in Banqiao, is a major transport hub interconnecting the Taiwan Railways, Taipei MRT, and Taiwan High Speed Rail. More and more people choose to live in Banqiao and commute between Banqiao and Taipei. Banqiao becomes a new hometown to people from southern Taiwan. The Lin Family Mansion and Garden, one of the tourist attractions in Banqiao, is today's most complete private garden left in Taiwan. The valuable cultural heritage reminds people to appreciate the beauty of historical antiquities and monuments. Besides, Banqiao 435 Arts District and 435 International Artist Village located near The Lin Family Mansion and Garden add rich multicultural colors to the life in Banqiao. With its many schools, business districts, Banqiao has become a prosperous and well-developed district. In addition, the people of Banqiao are cordial, hard-working, plain-dealing, sincere, and friendly. So Banqiao is really a good place for living.

2. Summary of Our Project
Taiwan Toy Museum is located in Banqiao 435 Arts District. There are copious displays inside the museum and a big playing square outside. People can have a lot of fun with all the different toys and games here. This project comprises the hardship of establishing the museum, the founder's dream, the present curator's ambition, the toys'ntroduction, the media reports, and the visitors' feelings. We have even designed a Q & A game for testing people's toy knowledge in this project. We hope that our community, our homeland and even the whole world can know Taiwan Toy Museum better through this project, and that our cultural heritage can be extended.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access
(1) Percentage of students using the Internet at home: more than 50%
(2) Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom: 105
(3) Connection speed used in the classroom: dedicated connection
(4) Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet: more than 6

School: There are four computer classrooms in our school and each normal classroom is equipped with a computer. We usually conduct our lessons and get on the Internet for data collecting in computer classrooms. Additionally, we have applied for a network disk for greater convenience in uploading or downloading our files.

Home: All of our team members have their own computers, and the computers are equipped with ADSL, so that we can surf the ‘Net for the data which we need at home.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome
(1) Data collecting:
The founder of Taiwan Toy Museum, Wen-Jing Jiang, passed away in October of 2008. Therefore, we couldn't interview him and get a full understanding of the spirit in which he established the museum. However, his wife, Bi-Shia Wang, fulfilled his last wish and took over the work. She explained everything patiently and attentively for us. We obtained precious information and a greater understanding of the toys and the museum. We deeply appreciate her kindness.

(2) Web design and learning
:
At the outset we didn't know how to design and make the Web page. But, luckily, our teacher, Mr. Qi-Quan Lin spent much time on teaching us how to make the Web page and design computer animation. He also taught us the concepts involved in presenting the contents of the museum clearly to others.

(3) Time limitation:
We could only make use of our break time at noon for the team's work because every team member was very busy with school work. We had many things to do in a short time, such as collecting data, reorganizing materials, practicing interview skills, learning computer software and discussing the project. So some work had to be finished at home. Therefore, our lives were very toilsome for these six months. But for the purpose of presenting the best contents of the museum and sharing the enjoyment of the toys with other people, we encouraged each other and squeezed the work of the project into the available time.

(4) Teamwork:
Every team member has his or her own personality and talent. Thus, working together and cooperating with each other was not always easy. We are very thankful that our teacher, Mr. Tang, assigned us the work according to our individual talents.  His leadership forged us into a team, which worked as with one heart to accomplish the task.

5. Our Project Sound Bite
(1) We hope that our project can re-awaken childhood memories and present the abundant fruit of Mr. Jiang's and his wife's hard work in building the collection. It is better to share joy than to keep it to oneself. We can also cultivate open minds by joining others in playing with the toys, and we can take inspiration from the story of Mr. and Mrs. Jiang.

(2) The perseverance to make dreams come true is what we learned from Mr. and Mrs. Jiang's story. We believe that we will achieve our goals if we try hard to carry them out. So, let's take on the challenges that lie ahead with courage!

(3) Each old toy is the wisdom of our forefathers. Once old toys are damaged, they will disappear. We finally understand Mr. and Mrs. Jiang's enthusiasm and motivation to collect the old toys comes from the cultural value hidden in them. The purpose for doing this project is not just to present the result but also to realize the importance of our cultural legacy and to take our place as heirs of it.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
The preparation for CyberFair required us to acquire not only basic computer skills but also multiple skills to support each other and work together to complete the homepage design. In order to have more understanding of the histories of toys, we surfed the Net collecting data and interviewed the present curator, Mrs. Jiang.  We learned that it is not easy to collect and keep toys, and that we should cherish what we have at hand now. Generally speaking, many courses in our curriculum were integrated into this project. The following is an illustration of how our project integrates with the curriculum:
(1) Art:
Designing homepages requires the skills of design, photography, editing and audio.
(2) Computer:
The computer course is certainly related to this project for the skills of making a Web page.
(3) Environmental Education:
It makes us cherish daily supplies, and even a used toy can be a great memento to the next generation.
(4) General activity:
We had constant group discussions and cooperation to make feasible and detailed plans beforehand, and then to carry them out. We learned the true spirit and the skill of working as a team--to trust, to share, and to be on time, which is also one of the focuses in our school curriculum.
(5) Geography:
We needed to know the basic concepts of geography to know the different locations of the museum and the transportation.
(6) History:
Through deep investigations, we came to understand more about the background of antique toys.
(7) Language:
Every progress report, toy introduction and interview script tested our ability to organize and write.
(8) Life Education:

It helps us to have empathy for the interviewees.
(9) Math:
We needed to have the basic math ability and logical thinking when introducing the puzzle toys to the visitors or on the Web page.
(10) Science:
Some scientific principles, such as gravity, needed to be understood in order to apply them to the toys when doing this project.

We made feasible and detailed plans through group discussions and cooperation. We learned to carry out our plans as a team, which is core value in our school curriculum. In conclusion, we realize the knowledge which we acquired at school wasn't only used for passing various exams, but it could be applied to the CyberFair project.
