Miao-Gong: Person administering the affairs of temple.
Uncle Cai, the Miao-Gong of Yuan-Shuai Temple, played an important role in our researching. He is affable to us, each time when we visited Yuan-Shuai Temple for research, he always helped us enthusiastically. Except accepting our interview, he also teached us how to worship and guided us to visit the historical relics in the temple. His help made us understand Yuan-Shuai Temple further, we were much moved by his passion.

Q:How long have you served in Yuan-Shuai Temple?
A¡G For 8, 9 years.

Q:What do you served in Yuan-Shuai Temple?
A¡G Everything! For example, preparing objects of worship, sweeping, explaining the sign for believers, etc.

Q:What impress you most at your work?
A¡G I don't know, (He looks a little puzzled.) maybe the temple fairs impress me most, for instance, annual gods' birthdays have many ceremonies; the other temples come into our temple for gods' birthday; believers invite some folk Performance groups to play in the front yard of temple for thanking gods' help.
Q:Do you think what part of Yuan-Shuai Temple has to improve?
A¡G It is difficult to answer. Because the layout of temple conforms to a standard, it can't be changed easily. At one time, a mother came into the temple with her child, the child 4 or 5 years old ran here and there in the temple, finally he bumped his head against the corner. The mother asked me whether the temple committee insured believers, she complained why the shape of temple pillar is not circular, and suggested that the pillars should be covered with something for protecting believers. But I think that the layout of temple has its own standard, it can not be changed easily.

Q:what development of Yuan-Shuai Temple do you hope?
A¡G The temple doesn't need any more development. (everybody laugh) This temple is the faith centre and its important duty is to bless residents. Therefore, keeping the current situation is good enough.

Q:What is your feeling to Yuan-Shuai Temple? Can you describe it with a sentence?
A¡G My feeling, I feel the temple always settle my mind.
