Q¡Gwhen you interviewed Youchang locals, had you ever heard any supernatural story ?
A¡G I hadn't, but I myself had a miraculous happening during my researching. One day, I and my husband made a field investigation in Youchang, our car broke down on the road which is one of Yuan-Shuai Temple's annual patrol routes. There was no household or shop nearby, we were extremely anxious and didn't know how to do. After a while, the magical thing happened, our car suddenly worked normally again. I thought that it must was Yuan-Shuai Temple's gods' help.

Q:Mr. Sun, do you know the origin of no Pudu in Youchang?
A¡G Youchang residents regard "No Pudu" as a pride; Offering the fruits and flowers as sacrifices is another thing that they regard as a pride too. When we did research in Youchang, we always heard residents named Yuan-Shuai temple "Chih-cai temple".("Chih-cai" means no meat.) Besides, Youchang don't burn paper money while they worship, it is a good and green custom. As for the origin of No Pudu, I had asked Miao-Gong, he told me: "No Pudu is the God's instruction."
