On
that windy and rainy night, all the people and the creatures saw the
rainbow on the Noah’s Ark…
IV. The Siraya Musical---Noah’s Ark
1.How It Gets Started
On December 27th, 2002, the Siraya
Musical “Noah’s Ark” was performed at the assembly hall in
Sin Hua Junior High School. The revival of the Siraya language
has always been one of the main tasks of the association.
“Noah’s Ark,” written in Siraya, attempted to tell an old
story in the Bible. In a society full of conflicts and struggles
among people, it is hoped that the story can bring out new
thinking for people to help each other, cherish the brave
new world, and will always be contended with things as they
are.

2. The Story |
The earth is Meirang Alid’s garden where he lived happily
together with the creatures he had created. At that time,
Noah’s family stayed with an old tribe. They are friendly
and glad to share everything with people, and they are also
close to Meirang Alid. However, people were getting increasingly
selfish, greedy, and military. Meirang Alid was deeply saddened
to see that the peaceful relation of beings has been destroyed.
Noah’s family then followed Meirang Alid’s instruction and
made a big ark, summoning all animals on board. People didn’t
listen to Noah’s warning of the coming disaster but sneered
at him. Depraved human nature prevailed. Finally, Meirang
Alid decided to wash the worldly sin by flood.
After the rain stopped, the rainbow appeared in the clouds.
With Meirang Alid’s blessing, all creatures on the ark returned
to the peaceful land. They loved each other so much that lives
could go on forever. |
