Hometown of the Sun

Elders' memories of the migration

The Aborigines used to live by the seaside; they escaped to higher ground because they did not have weapons to defend themselves against the Hans’ attack. They escaped to Pinghe Village, and were separated. Some came to Great Danlin, but the Hans chased them again, they escaped to an even higher ground. When a group of hunters found a new place with water, they wanted to move to the new place. The chief was too weak to lead them to the new place, so he asked his people to go without him but visited him every 5 years. The new place not only had crucial water supply but also well defended barriers from Han’s attack.
