Jimmy: why do you enjoy beating the drum, what is your experience?
John's mother (helping John translate): I beat the drum is mainly to do the physical therapy, not to enjoy. So I feel very painful at the start, because my hand became strength less bring drum, so when I take the drum stick, and start beating, the drum stick will fly away, consequently when the stick flew away, I need to grope to fin the stick. So, there's quite a lot of pains while studying to beat drumming, beating drum is for physical therapy, but after a while, I got better and better, a little bit interest came out. In those days, the church needed a drummer. That church is in You-Chang, a very big church, so I went to try.
I used to beat drums without music, of course there's no music to play with it. I wanted to try and have a look. In the church, I learned how to beat a drum with a song, because there are not only musical instruments and even the sing is inside. So, the more I beat, the more interestedly I get, at last, we established Kiwi band, we recruit a few musicians. These musicians mostly have attainments in music, they told us, that we should annotation this song. Therefore, practicing with the band made his drum skills better, that's all.
Why does John want to teach students how to beat the drum?

Because there's a small church, that church didn't h have a pastor, instead, there's a minister, that means he must take an exam to be a pastor, he is very enthusiastic, and very interested in the music, he wants to establish a music camp very much, so he came to see John to come. First, the pastor asked him if he can teach them music inside the camp to come to come when he told John, that some people is interested in beating the drum but doesn't know how, John couldn't promise he wants him to teach them, he's afraid, because he could not speak clearly, he's afraid students can not understand what he is saying, but the ministor is very enthusiastic, he encouraged John, he came three times, finally John gave it a try.
The reason that I promised them is I can spread out the drum skills to other people, because his dad found six teachers to teach John, they all are one to one, he learn things till the teacher have nothing to teach him. The teachers told him they do not have anything else to teach him, he learn like that, so he wants to teach students what he had learned. He wanted to do some work for the world, he beating drum without charge, later he found out these students are stating to be random, if they want to come, they come; if they don't want to come, they don't come, and often late. So John thought that he needed to charge some money, the tuition fee that I charged is devoting to that church, because that church is a small church, that's it!

Scott: Which part do you enjoy from teaching how to beat drums?
John: I can learn the things from students too, I study to how to get along with students, how to teach, so, the students can understand and learn a little bit more. From a student who doesn't know how to beat a drum, to can beat drums with music. Watching them walk over here, makes me feels good. That's all.

John: Thing that happen usually what that I speak they can't understand, not aimed at the meaning leans towards, they heard like that finally, and students of me is studying beating drumming, mutual to talk with I feel it very much interesting they have to come, feel like smiling!

John: I like pleasant songs very much, that knight's lyrics of the drum songs, the song is brisker not slow, a bit brisker, is more pleasant to be a bit more lively.
