2004 is the Visit Taiwan Year. Taiwan
Tourism Bureau hired Chen Hung to be the Ambassador of Taiwanese
Cuisines to help promote Taiwanese cuisines. Chen Hung is a
famous culinary expert in Taiwan. Besides hosting culinary shows
in Taiwan, he also hosts a culinary show in Singapore and became
a household name in both Taiwan and Singapore. About Howgi Tan-a-Mi,
Chen Hung has the following comments: “Blue Chip” of Taiwanese Cuisines
Chen Hung thinks that any
trend could fade. What can stay long and unshakable are those
which combine with culture. Howgi is definitely the “blue chip”
of Taiwanese cuisines because it inherits Taiwanese culinary
culture.

Signature Dish of Taiwanese Seafood
The
wife of Howgi's proprietor, Ms. Tseng Mei-Tzu, also known as
Aunt A-mei, knows seafood really well. She can tell us which
kind of seafood is good to eat in different seasons.
Aunt A-mei didn't know much about Tan-a-Mi when she began doing
this business. She spent lots of time learning to cook Tan-a-Mi
including its broth and ingredients. Now, no one would forget
the tasty Howgi Tan-a-Mi because of her terrific culinary skill.

reporters
After earning its reputation, Howgi
strives even harder to promote Tai-a-Mi to more customers and
even to the world. The proprietor also tries to develop more
new recipes and new souvenirs for Howgi while his wife learns
restaurant management.
There is a saying that goes, “Running a country is like cooking.”
This means to run a country well is just like cooking a dish;
learn to observe small details and work toward larger goals.
Taiwanese fully bring this kind of concept into full play in
the culinary field. Creativity of Culinary Art
All arts are the most advanced
science. Howgi hopes to win recognition from all diners with
their advanced culinary science. Therefore, Howgi not only presents
its cuisines with the best quality foodstuff, but also can turn
a humble dish like tofu into a luxurious joy. Creating a Culture Space
Singapore
newspaper coverage about our interview with Chen hung
Chen Hung commented that Howgi
emphasizes traditional culture very much. Howgi integrated Taiwanese
culture into its decoration with images, posters, sculptures,
souvenirs, as well as interior designs. The decoration itself
tells the story of Taiwan's past, making customers feel like
walking into a tunnel of Taiwanese history. Living up the Expectation of Culture
Inheritance
Howgi does everything with
its undying enthusiasm. Howgi published a very unique souvenir
- Howgi Slang Calendar. This unique calendar preserves Taiwan's
local traditions and ancestors' doctrines, which gives customers
an opportunity to get to know more about their own homeland
culture. Chen Hung gives Howgi his ultimate comment to Howgi:
In Howgi, you can find anything that satisfies your appetite
without spending much.
