Cocoa is considered to be a crop only suitable for growing in tropical rainforests, but Pingtung, located in the south of the country, has the advantage of a tropical climate with little temperature difference throughout the year, and it has plenty of sunshine and abundant rain. Pingtung's native cocoa has excellent conditions that can be mastered from planting to processing and production. Therefore, it has also attracted many chocolatiers to make chocolates with cocoa beans from their hometowns. The award record is based on the 2017 Fuwan Manor's award at the International Chocolate Competition (International Chocolate Competition).
