Xiaoxi Cultural Association is located at the Red Leaf Hotel, and is currently chaired by the hotel’s owner, Mr. Ying-hua Su. He is also the person in charge of Red Leaf Family Recreation Center, who frequently holds folkgame events. Because he is also an alumnus of our school, we refer to him as a teacher, though he likes to have us address him as a fellow classmate or a senior. Chung Shan Elementary School alumni can be found literally anywhere.
Mr. Su says that Xiaoxi Cultural Association was founded in April of 2005. The reason behind which is that as in the past Changhua was a prosperous place, and that even with its rapid decline in recent years much cultural heritage remains. He, with Mr. Yu-zheng Su and Yu-zheng’s sister, applied for the founding of Xiaoxi Cultural Association in the hope that by doing so he could contribute to the promotion of Xiaoxi culture. Last year Xiaoxi Cultural Association tried to apply for the registration of the Gaobinge Tavern as a county-level monument of Changhua.
Xiaoxi Cultural Association continues to assemble, organize, and upload onto the internet information on historical and scenic locations to use as reference for visitors both domestic and abroad, especially backpackers who aim to know the local culture in-depth. This is one of the reasons why backpackers are frequently seen here.

To promote Xiaoxi local culture, to preserve cultural inheritance, to introduce local cuisines, and to stimulate the overall community development.
4.What are some recent events held by Xiaoxi Cultural Association?
We once invited domestic artists to sketch here; we held folkgame summer camps with the Bureau of Cultural Affairs; we held the event Cuisine Cruise with Changhua City Office; we helped to have the Railway Hospital registered as a county-level relic; and we helped promote tourism in Changhua City.
