Quantity of Shenjiang Statues

In the early ages, due to the merging among Xuanshe and music halls in Luzhou areas, the total amount of Shenjiang statues in Luzhou became the highest nationwide. Luzhou has been called “Hometown of Shenjiang” for many years. There are many reasons for receiving this gracious name, and the most important reason is that Xuanshe in Luzhou had competed with one another in the Luzhou area. In order to win favor from people in routine temple activities, each Xuanshe rushed to assemble more Shenjiang statues. The amount of Shenjiang statues in the Luzhou areas suddenly increased a lot during a short 30 years. We organized the Shenjiang amount that Luzhou currently has in the following table. The table first introduces Luzhou’s top 8 most famous Shenjiang statues, and then lists the Shenjiang amounts of each Luzhou Xuanshe.

Pin-yu Wu: We should continue to extend the amount of our Shenjiang. Don’t let this invisible treasure die away. I hope our strong promotion and introduction on Shenjiang culture can help to develop this traditional technique.
Shun-wei Huang: The amount of Shenjiang statues in Luzhou is number one in the entire nation. This fully shows the interesting part of Luzhou’s culture. The main temples in Luzhou are Yonglien Temple, Yuqing Temple, and Baohe Temple. They all own more Shenjiang statues than others, such as Sudhana, Long Nu, their main god Guanyin Pusa (in Yonglien Temple), General Qi, and General Ba.
Ming-hsien Hsu: The total amount of Shenjiang in Luzhou area should be number one in Taiwan. Shenjiang statues in Luzhou area have their own feature and are different from others. Only the Yuqing Temple in Luzhou owns the complete Thirteen Guards Shenjiang in one temple.  If the Shenjiang amount in Luzhou area keeps decreasing, then Luzhou won’t be the so called “Hometown of Shenjiang”, and Shenjiang statues will lose their characteristics.
Yuang-ting Tseng: Some types of Luzhou Shenjiang have never shown up in other areas. Shenjiang amount in Luzhou is number one in the whole nation. The temple patrol tour in Luzhou is very lively in Luzhou. All gods and Shenjiang statues from temples in Luzhou will show up. Luzhou Shenjiang statues have been developed for hundreds of years and created some characteristics that are different from other areas. I hope we can carry these on, since Luzhou Shenjiang is the symbol of Luzhou custom and is very unique.
Kuan-ting Ho: I feel Luzhou Shenjiang culture is distinctive. Why? Because Luzhou has the most Shenjiang statues. For example, Yuqing Temple is the only temple in the whole nation that owns the complete set of Thirteen Guards Shenjiang statues. Therefore, Luzhou Shenjiang culture is very unique.
