All the groups worked very hard during the winter vacation. At present,
our most important action is to carry out the free ligation in communities. Because
after the activity group advertised in communities, there were a few
applicants, so some group members suggested that we could advertise in all the
classes. In this way, younger pupils could spread the news. In addition, some
group members found that although there were many dogs in some places, there
were no applicants there. We could try again there. This weekend, the activity
group could visit those places first. And this time, we should invite our
teacher to accompany us, to explain to misunderstood villagers that we were not
playing. We would go with our teacher to visit those people and try to produce
better results.
After discussions, the work is assigned as follows:
(1) On February 19th, we would go to all the classes to
publicize. About on February 24th, we would go to all the
classes to take back the application forms.
Grade 1: Yu Jie, Wen Han, and Yu Fen
Grade 2: Jia Jun, Wei Xuan, and Yi Jing
Grade 3: Zhi Lun, Fang Yu, andPei
Ru
Grade 4: Wei Yuan, Ying Jun, and Cheng Wei
Grade 5: Sheng Wei, Wan Jun, and Yan Ping
Grade 6: Ke Jie, Wen Shuai, and You Ming
(2) We would hand in the applicant files about free ligation of animals to Wei Xuan, who would type them into electronic files according to the
classification of villages. ON February 25th, the files would be
submitted to Brother Mautou in TUAPA.
(3) At 8:30am on February 20th Zhi Lun, Yu Jie, Ke Jie, and Jia Jun
would gather at the school
gate and strike again, -- visiting the family opposite to our school, the garage, and the kindergarten.

meeting for the second wave of propaganda.)

Yu Jie:
This afternoon, the activity
group plans to visit the owners whom we have never met. And we will visit the
village head to collect the application forms.
The first stop: the family opposite our school
We walked to the house opposite to our school, because
he raised a female dog, we often saw it become pregnant and give
birth to puppies. Although we visited that family a few times, they never stayed at home. Our teacher talked with
the people in the beauty
salon at next door and knew that during daytime, the family would go out to do business, so
they were not at home. The salon owner promised to ask the owner’s opinion for us.
The second stop: Yuanzhong Village head’s home
Next we went to the Yuanzhong
Village head’s home. Although we pushed the
doorbell again and again, no one answered. It seemed that the head was not
at home. We had to ask the volunteering mother who
lived next door to collect the application forms from the village head on
behalf of us. When she sent her child to school tomorrow morning, she could give the forms to us. Thanks to the kindhearted volunteering mother who managed books helped us, or we would have to come again.
The third stop:Waipu Village head’s home
The head of Waipu Village is not at home, either. He was
working in the field. His daughter gave him a call. And he said that there was only one applicant. So we
noted down the phone number of that applicant. When we went back to school, we
would contact him.
The third stop: the bamboo grove
The head of Waipu Village once told us a bamboo grove. Today the teacher and we decided to go and
find it. Jia Jun knew about the approximate position of that place, but no one
had been here, so we are not very confident. We could have a try. When the car
turned into a path which was narrower and narrower, we were very nervous. Finally,
we saw a bamboo forest, in it there was a three-side courtyard. The grass
around it was very high to the extent that we could almost not see the way in. We
didn’t know whether this was the right place. The teacher stopped the car on
the road. When we stepped off, we heard a lot of dogs barking. Now we were sure
that this was what we're looking for. When we went in, we saw a great pile of
bones and food waste. Although the dogs kept barking, nobody came out, so we
judged that the owner was not at home. When we looking into the yard, we saw
two dogs were tied at the gate, and another dog rushed out, but it saw that
there were so many of us; it dare not approach.
We looked around and
found a plate on the tree at the entrance, the master wrote that: don’t abandon
dogs at will. Dogs are our most loyal friends ... What the village head said
about this owner was right. Some villagers abandoned their dogs here. So the
owner wrote this sign to advice people who released their pets. The teacher put
her phone number on the leaflet and wished him to contact us. Maybe we could
help him. We put some leaflets about neutering dogs and cats for free on the
pot cover, and also put one leaflet on the tree, pinned by a stone.
We thought that he would see them and hoped that he would contact us.
The activity group
followed the teacher to publicize out of school today, but we didn’t see the
responsible persons. All of our activities were targeted to neuter dogs and
cats, and we hope that there would not be numerous newly born puppies.
The
Second Wave of Community Propaganda for Neutering Dogs and Cats for Free—Confirming
the Surgery with Owners

2. Theme: we would call owners again to
confirm matters needing attention about the surgery

Yu Jie:
After we went back
to school, my teacher and I began to call applicants one by one to confirm whether
the owners knew about the matters needing attention about neutering dogs and
cats for free. When we called them, some said that they would not participate, because
some family members were object to the ligation. Of course we could not force
them to accept. There was a gentleman who got the news from the internet, and
called us to register. He enlisted some stray cats and he also said that he
would borrow the cage trap to capture more cats to accept ligation. We were very
happy to hear that. The working team had transmitted the news to other villages
and towns, and the people there asked us to sign up! We had confirmed 24
applicants. We would continue to contact other applicants tomorrow.

applicants)
