5. Topic: Setting the speaking
group’s motivation
6. Content:
It’s an unforgettable date on 28th
Sep. 2010. In the early morning, therewas a big box sent by the next door classmate. Inside the box were five lovely puppies.
We couldn’t wait for our teacher to come to the classroom therefore we
run to say” Teacher, someone put a box of puppies in our school again.” Our teacher felt that her head starting
aching for the difficulty problem and said: “Weren’t it for my Teachers’ Day
present? This might be too heavy for
me!!”
We started to busy take care for the new
comers, five puppies, in our classroom. The most important thing for us to do
was to feed them. They were too small to
eat hard food. Hence we fed them notonly the milk but also the soft dog food that we put into the water or milk
then the puppies could easily to swallow.
Some classmates found that this box of
puppies look alike the one was been put in school last semester. Therefore we were wonder if this was the same
owner who put the puppies inside the school?

Content:
We started the difficult process to help the
puppies to find their adopters. This
time was not so easy as before because we need to find five adopters at a
time. In the beginning, no one of uscould make sure that we could reach the goal.
As a result, there were four of five adopted in the third day. But
unfortunately there were three puppies returned in next day. And the last one would be returned soon if it
kept barking whole night without sleeping.
Therefore, we had to think another way to let the adopter could keep the
puppy. We asked the owner to bring the
puppy to our classroom from Mon. to Fri. to let us help him to train the
puppy. After the puppy became bigger and
its character much more steady; then he could bring it home. Luckily, the rest of three were adopted
within one month. This was really a big
test for us.
From this event, we found that we had to
share the idea of protect animals to everyone.
Otherwise the people of the neighborhood were irresponsible for the
animals would become to our pressure.
After our discussion, we decided to do the right thing from ourselves
and extended to our friends. Therefore,
we separated our classmates into four speaking groups to spread the idea of
protect animals to every grade in our school.

Starting Preparation(3) – Making PPT for the Education Sessions
1.
Time: October 11th 2010
2. Production staff: Wei Yuan, Wen Han, Ying Jun
3. Theme: making PPT for the education sessions
4. Content:
(1) Education PPT was made according to the direction which we discussed and determined last
time. We had also increased some photos about pupils in Grade 5 caring for the
animals. We thought that more details would be better.
(2) We discussed the content of education sessions with our teacher many times. We decided that the
main content should be kept unchanged but divided into
different levels. And the explanation text should be easier when we faced pupils from
lower grades.
(3) We used the “movie maker” to edit the films and showed the key content only.
Starting Preparation(4) – Meeting the Vet
1. Time: October 14th
2010
2. Theme: meeting
the vet
3. Lecturer: Doctor Zheng Shuwen from
Cheng’ai Animal Hospital
4. Content:
For the education
session, the teachers especially invited the private physician for Coffee and Milk
-- Doctor Zheng Shuwen from Cheng’ai Animal Hospital, to talk with us face to
face. She introduced the social problems and health problems caused by stray
dogs, for example, some common diseases such as skin diseases, parasites, etc.
Rabies is a kind of zoonosis; once getting infected, a person may die.
Fortunately, the disease has never appeared inTaiwan since 1958.
She also describedthe handling ways for stray dogs. After two weeks since the stray dogs werecaptured, if no one adopted them, the government would have no choice but euthanizethem. Aye! Later, we also asked Doctor Zheng about relevant practices of ligation
and euthanasia, so that we could understand better. We are grateful to Doctor
Zheng. We hope that this kind of knowledge could be applied to our propaganda
in future and we could pass on the right concept to younger pupils.

Starting Preparation(6) –Previewing
1. Time: October 25th 2010
2. Theme: previewing before the education
session
3. Content:
The teacher asked us to recite the educationsession content to our families after we go home, pretending that they were theaudience; or we could practice in front of the mirror. Although we could recite
very well, we were not sure about the cooperation of our team. So, before the education
session, the teacher arranged one preview. She let us to make the speech from
the very beginning to the end. If some pupils had problems, the whole class
would help them improve. We practiced many times; and finally we could make the
whole speech more fluently. I hoped that we would do our best on the stage.

Review and Improvement (1)
|
1. Time:
29th Dec. 2010
2. Topic: The children in our school had changed their
attitude to the small animals.
3. Content:
Sheng Wei:
After the speaking, the children in our
school had changed their attitude to the small animals. Due to they spent more and more time to play
with the dogs and to notice the value of the life of the animals.
Though not everyone could understand our
speaking, their attitude actually improved and the environment of peaceful coexistence
between animals and human beings were showed in our campus. However there would be still some people to
bully the dog, we had to continue the speaking to change these kinds of people
to become the people who caring about life.
I felt that some children already
found out that the dogs’ lives were also valued. But it’s very difficult to let
all of the children in our school to know.
Hence this might be our next goal.
Review and Improvement (2)
1. Time: 29th Dec. 2010
2. Topic: I tell my mom what’s the proper behavior
toward stray dogs.
3. Content:
Yo-Ming:
It’s been more than one year and the memory
of the tiny lives went across my brain just liked a movie.
Been unexpected we actually saved or helped a
lot of stray animals. I did really wish
the pain would not extend and this was our goal of doing the animal protection
guidance. In addition, I changed a lot
though this period of time. I was scared
to across before, but now it’s ok for even the dog-A Bu to sleep next to
me. And…..
When my mom and I rode the
bike seeing the dogs on the road, I would tell my mom what’s the proper
behavior. I hope that after our
speaking, the children would go home and tell their parents about the correct
idea.
Review and Improvement (3)
1. Time:
29th Dec. 2010
2. Topic: The events of hurting dogs getting less and no
more dogs bite happen.
3. Content:
Yu-Jie:
After completing the animals protection
guidance, I felt relax. Children spread
things very fast and they could help us to spread out the idea that we would
like to tell. Inside the school campus, I really happy could see that people
change their attitude to the stray dogs. In addition, before the speaking there
were a lot of children playing with the dogs and hurt them unconscious. This would let the children in a certain
danger environment without knowing. But
from then, the events of hurting dogs getting less and no more dogs bite
happen.
Review and Improvement (4)
1. Time:
29th Dec. 2010
2. Topic: I learned not to nervous in front of people
and just needed in a relax mood.
3. Content:
Wen-Han
Finally the end of the speaking and I am
ready to put down the big stone.
As mention to the
888 group, I felt that each of them speak quite well. But I wonder why Wan-Chun wasn’t scrolling
the mouse to turn the page; the article still jumped more they expected. In our group, the mistake that I made teaches
us a lesson. Never tried to press return
if only press one more sentence, otherwise they would whole disappear.
As to the other two groups, six and fire
angel, I knew them all very nervous but they looked so steady in their
speaking. Therefore I am quite admire
these two groups.
Though I was not doing well of the speaking,
the 2nd Grate students had some ideas about the animal protection
and they already knew they had to value lives of the animals…etc. I also learned not to nervous in front of
people and just needed in a relax mood.

5. Content:
The preparation and speaking activityaround three month, we used all of the energy to prepare
and sacrifice a lot ofplay time. The only one purpose was to guidethe right concept to the younger brothers and sisters at school. They could care animals and go back home toshare the idea with their parents. Then
asking their parents to take the pet to the Vet to ligate and giving up raising
the pet when unwanted.
Inside the campus, we also could see that thestudents played with the dogs and didn’t use the improper way to treatdogs. Especially we could see that noone hit the dogs. From their feedback form,we could see that some people felt sorry for abuse the dogs, some people would
love their dog more and some people learn the correct information about pet
from the speaking. Therefore we believed
that speaking about protect animals to everyone is a right thing to do. Hence we would do it forever until there’s no
more stray dogs.
