Q::Which kind of local Tchoukball activity you have ever run?

A:: Not yet, it is difficult to invite the neighbor to join neighborhood activity, but we have a few Tchoukball competition regularly, such as competition between schools run by Elementary Sports Association. In addition to, we have chief committee cup of Tchoukball from Jan. to May in PE season, which is domestic. After I came to Yuan-Chong Elementary School, I have run enormous competition, which is national Chung-Cheng cup in National Kaohsiung University, FITB Asia Pacific Tchoukball championship, warm-up competition of World Games in 2009, and Civil Game of this year which is important competition!

Q::How do you promote Tchoukball in Kaohsiung? How does it going?

A:: We have made three regular competition, the most important thing to promote Tchoukball is referee and coach training we have had twice this year. There are a lot of new PE teacher, from Kaohsiung city, Kaohsiung county, and Ping-Tung county, joined with us in the training and referee teacher joined level B and level C referee training. This must be something to do with World Games in Kaohsiung in 2009. There are four or five schools competing at my first year in Yuan-Chong Elementary School, but there are 30 or 40 teams, which is very nice! Our Tchoukball team of Kaohsiung haven't had good record till now. What a pity!

Q::What kind of problem do you encounter when you promote Tchoukball?

A:: Definitely, we will encounter the difficulties after training the players. For example, after entering junior high school, those kids have to give up loving Tchoukball because of school pressure. No professional training to those kids, not like the training and chance to play ball freely while in the elementary school.

Except player training, we have to worry about budget of training player and running competition. The biggest problem is from parents, who think the kids will become bad guys or no career if they continue playing the ball. They forgot Jian-Ming Wang of Taiwan Light, some famous baseball player, and famous Taiwan Tchoukball, they are our hope of golden metal next year. Some foreign Tchoukball players are afraid of competing with our country. The concept about ball playing needs to change!

Q::How do you think after those promoting activity?

A:: We need school including teachers and administrators like dean, president to support the promoting because all of activities are held in school. The most difficult of promoting Tchoukball is short of PE teachers. If there are numerous of classed, there will be enough PE teacher to train students, but only one teacher is so tired of training Tchoukball, hand ball, dodge ball, track and field event because of sports game, and having class in our school. So, I worry about the short of teachers.

Q::How do you suggest our students get in Tchoukball activities?

A:: Another name of Tchoukball is “Gentlemen Ball”. There aren't hit or fight in Tchoukball playing like basket ball, but it needs pass and shoot the ball. It is suitable for kids' physiology growing without changes or deeper skills. A doctor at Civil Game asked me:” What is Tchukball?” I told him that he would know after watching competitions, and then he told me: ”It's fun!” and he said again :”I don't know the rule of the game.” But after watching the brochure of Tchoukball, he discussed with his son and us about the problem of player disobeying the rule. After knowing the rule of game, you will like it such as baseball because we watched it when we were kids. We should give kids the chance of knowing the game before like it. I believe you will like better your coach teacher Zheng after your research.

Q::How can government help when promoting Tchoukball activity?

A:: We hope Ministry of Education and PE Committee can corporate without conflict. Ministry of Education can offer more chance of getting higher education to our players, who can get more training while in the school. We hope PE Committee can offer budget to help PE activity in school, otherwise it is difficult to depend on school only to promote the sports. We hope the education of Grade 1-9 curriculum may permits students as team player to play Tchoukball, they will have more confidence to play the game.

Q::Which schools promote Tchoukball activity?

A:: We are the two(Yuan-Chong Elementary School, Jia-Chang ) of those school like Ju-Guang Elementary School, Hou-Jing Elementary School, Sheng-Li Elementary School, Ping-Shan Elementary School, Yung-Ching Elementary School, Gung-Wu Elementary School, and Fu-Dong Elementary School.

Q::What is difference in training players between now and then?

A:: There is big difference in offense and defense of tactics comparing with 20 years before. There are nine players but seven players now. Players have to pick ball well, run fast, pass ball faraway, and faster than before, which will be more fabulous and difficult than before. There are two kinds of players, one was offender who took responsible of offending training, another was defender who took responsible of catching the ball before. Offender has to defend, and defender has to offend because of short of two players now.

Q::Will you take charge of job of Tchoukball of World Games in 2009?

A:: Sure. I am the manager of playground of taking charge of playground of World Games in 2009 and taking care of facilities and equipments. Eleventh Subtitle: You think which country will get golden metal of Tchoukball? Content: It is possible of Taipei, R.O.C. for boys, and Swiss for girls. If they practice on winter vacation, they will have chance to get metal. The strongest teams are Italy, France, and Swiss.
