Prologue

The 8th World Games which is held at a quadrennial interval, will be held in Kaohsiung from July 16 to 26, 2009. The 7th World Games was held in Duisburg, Germany. There are 26 official sports, 5 invitational sports and 5 exhibition sports. There are estimated some 4,500 athletes from over 99 countries will participate this event. The city government of Kaohsiung is honored to host this event. They work very hard to make it successful. We hope all the citizens of Kaohsiung city are prepared to host this event and welcome all the athletes from all over the world.
