   The dragon is one of the 12 animals (Rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, dog, and pig) in the Chinese zodiac which is used to designate years in the Chinese lunar calendar. Each of the 12 animals represents a year. (eg. 2009 is the year of Ox) It is thought that the people who were born in the same year would have the similar personality traits which is associated with the animal that represents the year.
Since dragons are powerful and lucky creatures, Many people like to have babies in Dragon years are because they hope their kids are as lucky as dragons. Therefore, there are more babies born in Dragon years than in any other animal years of the Zodiac.
