1 .How does the research and project work for Cyberfair help your school teaching and curriculum requirements?
The purpose of school teaching is to pass the knowledge on the textbooks to students. The learning process at classrooms is aimed to inspire students to take initiatives in developing their abilities to learn, organize and apply what they have learned. However, it is not easy to leverage the teaching activities at schools to actually test students to see whether they can meet these requirements or to assist them to cope with potential obstacles.
This research project serves as a vehicle for the school to verify where there is anything missing or insufficient in the daily teaching contents or curriculum. It also demonstrates the potentials of our first year students and the team spirit among them (something that they cannot acquire at classrooms).
This activity can also be a case study in the curriculum so that other students can refer to, review and make evaluations. Meanwhile, our research project is part of the community curriculum. With our activities and findings, teachers, students and community residents know more about everything regarding Xianji Rock.

What skills have we developed?
In this research project, we developed skills in interviewing, information gathering, data consolidation, progress planning, meeting discussions, computer applications, field investigations, conclusion drawing and finding presentations.

What team spirit have we demonstrated?
We allocated workloads in accordance with personal interests and capabilities. We all did our best and shared a common goal that we should enjoy the learning process.

How can we better live up to certain goals?
This research project enabled each team member to understand the true meaning of community concerns. It is not any subject in curriculum. Rather, it is something everybody should live up to every minute of their daily life, because we are all part of the community. This research project also allowed us to know the concepts of organization, division of labor and basic management, including time management,
material management and staff management.

Intellectual Property Right:
During the research process, we noticed that all the quotable information has intellectual property right issues. Therefore, we obtained the permission of the interviewees during the interview process so that we can record the interview contents and pictures and post them on the websites. Also, we provide a detailed list of reference books and websites.

7 . Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises
This research exercise allowed us to discover and experience many beautiful things in our community that we normally overlook or do not understand. We also learned to remind each other constantly to stayed focused and remain strong willed. Only with team spirits can we complete this task. We also discovered that there is a sea of knowledge outside the textbooks that awaits us to explore and understand. Everybody has unlimited potentials too. |
