About Wind Music Wood Wind Instruments Brass Instruments The Primogenitor of Music band and wood-wind instruments ---Recorder It is hard for us to believe that the primogenitor of music band and Wood Wind is recorder; this is because of our little acknowledge on it. Recorder is categorized to the musical instruments of fore Baroque Time in Europe; actually, it is right the one of recorders you learned in music lessons during studying elementary school. The one, Flute, what we seen today is made by metal; but we treat the flute as one of wood wind? Why? Actually, the high valued flute is right made by “wood”; that is the one that the leading man played the “Red” thing in the show of “Feet of Flames” you can see. Its material is made by wood; but we call it “Flute”. All of the wood-wind instruments consisted of wood no except of the Brass band musical instruments. Clarinet originally is recorder; the same as Flute even OBOE is extended from Clarinet. From the point of evolution, it is easy to see that recorder is right the primogenitor; the design of it at earlier age is somewhat different. You can find its tones from the Baroque time CD to look into. Maybe, somebody will say that the tones of recorder should be flute; but actually, it was not because flute was ready yet at that time. From the normal concepts from publics, they thought that recorder is not a difficult stuff to learn; in fact, it is totally wrong. You have to spend much time on it likely on Flute in case you want to have professional skills. As one of Baroque musical instruments, recorder has it own unique “flavor” and is able to do several imitations. Compared to the current musical instruments, it is much simple than those, of course, its connotations limit itself in various ways.
