Theme: Formulate the structure of project
Content: After discussing with teachers, we decided to do a project on inBlooom, which is a distinctive Taiwanese brand. We browsed the website with iPad to discuss the full details and drew the site map together. Although it’s hard to draw the site map at first, through the discussion and cooperation with team members, we completed the site map with several sub-themes and relevant content.

Collect materials to understand the brand

Theme: Collect materials to understand the brand
Content: We browsed the website of inBlooom to understand the information of this brand, including time of foundation, co-founders and business philosophy. We found out the pattern designs were made use of local materials, such as window iron gratings, Taiwanese birds, Taiwanese food, and so on. During the school closure due to coronavirus, we watched many YouTube videos about the interview of inBlooom’s founders and employees, which gets us much of impression about inBlooom

Design interview questions and assign work

Date: October, 15th, 2021

Theme: Design interview questions and assign work
Content: The original plan was delayed for several months. Finally, the virus slowed down, so we contacted with person in charge of inBlooom again and arranged this visit. We formulated the interview questions as we browsed the website of inBlooom to collect more materials. Teachers held discussion, edited and organized interview draft with us. After the interview draft had been confirmed, we started to assign work. All of the students were divided into three groups and are responsible for individual task on the day of visit.

Visit the brick and mortar store of inBlooom

Theme: Visit the brick and mortar store of inBlooom
Content: After having lunch at school, three teachers took a bus with us to Dihua Street, then we walked to inBlooom. On the way to inBlooom, teachers practiced the situation of interview with us. In addition, every student learned how to ask questions to train their expressing abilities and build courage. At first, Teacher Hana gave a briefing and shared their business philosophy and introduce the origin of pattern design and their collaborative enterprises, such as PXMart and McDonald’s. Afterwards, we divided into two teams. One team was in charge of interviewing. The other team experienced silk screen printing to do drawstrings, and then two teams exchanged. It’s not easy to design beautiful patterns through silk screen printing. In the end, we visited all kinds of exquisite printed fabric products with smooth texture in store.

Organize recording files

Theme: Organize recording files
Content: Last week, after visiting inBlooom, we cooperated with each other to organize recording files into transcript as the materials of website content. Everyone did their parts and organized into transcript, then sent an email to teachers. Because Teacher Hana spoke too fast, we needed to listen to the recording files for many times. However, the most difficult part is to modify words in text files. Besides, we can’t use informal words in text files, and that’s the difference between composition and conversation.

Design patterns and tell local stories

Theme: Design patterns and tell local stories
Content: We combined our homework in art class to finish our unique works with Formosan features and stories. During the process, we used our favorite things, Taiwanese characteristics or anything that comes to mind as materials. Afterwards, according to our designed patterns, we added local stories behind. Doing this project not only trains our expressing and writing abilities, but also inspires our artistic talents.

Print rubber stamp patterns

Theme: Print rubber stamp patterns
Content: We designed our rubber stamps in art class. The process of designing and printing works is quite difficult because it is easy to make mistakes. Through proof print again and again and teacher’s leadership, our printing skills improved gradually. At last, we successfully printed our ideal patterns. A sense of accomplishment and joy come to mind after finishing our own distinctive works with local stories.

Prepare and Display the special exhibition

Date: January, 6th, 2022
Place: Physics and Chemistry Laboratory、School Gallery
Theme: Prepare and Display the special exhibition
Content: First, we used the computer to type the organized content of inBlooom’s introduction. Then, we printed it with a printer, and made posters by the cut-and-paste method. The content of posters are introduction, pictures and photos of inBlooom. It took us lunch time for four days to make posters. We displayed the posters and printed fabric with local stories at the school gallery. Everyone who passed by the gallery could appreciate our project, and hope everybody would like our special exhibition.

Make and Analyze the Questionnaire

Date: January, 13th, 2022

Theme: Make and Analyze the Questionnaire
Content: Besides the special exhibition at the school gallery, we held the cyber exhibition as well and design our feedback questionnaire on the website, so everyone can fill in the questionnaire online. Among all those who filled out the questionnaire, we held a questionnaire draw and drew the lucky students at the school assembly, and our principal offered little prizes for us. We invited teachers, classmates, and friends to visit our exhibition, and encouraged them to fill out the questionnaire. Through the questionnaire, we could analyze the data further.

Write Down Website Content and Proofread

Date: January, 13th, 2022
Place: School Computer Classroom
Theme: Write Down Website Content and Proofread
Content: We uploaded the recording files from interview, pictures and questionnaire data and charts into Google Drive. Then, everyone did their part to finish the text content of website effectively. In addition, someone is in charge of results of statistical analysis and drawing illustrations. When the content is confirmed, we would proofread together, and ask teachers to assist in English translation and website design.
