Pingtung park

Pingtung park

Pingtung park was established in 1902. It is the earliest park and green space construction in southern taiwan, and it is the third street park in taiwan. It was established by the first foreign assistant of Ahou tingchang kuangyuan to improve the poor sanitary environment of ajing Street. In 1912, the park's hinterland was expanded through the acquisition of private land and land attached to the sugar club, and the expansion to the north side. The second phase of the project was completed in 1915, including ponds, pavilions, fountains, tennis courts, baseball fields and Loyalty monument and other facilities. At the same time, the park is equipped with tropical trees, waterside pavilions and bougainvilleas with a southern atmosphere.
