Introdution of works
1,Master Jia-Yi Lin:Bao Qingtian

The myth of Bao Qingtian originated from Bao Zheng during the Renzong period of the Nan Song Dynasty. Later generations regarded him as a god and called him "Bao Qingtian" because of Bao Zheng's integrity and fairness as a judge. Ouyang Xiu wrote that Bao Qingtian's "righteous and justice is well known around the courts in the country," indicating Bao Qingtian's selflessness. Bao Qingtian tried "the night cases the yin (陰), the day cases the yang (陽)." To commemorate Bao Qingtian, a temple was built, and many artworks were born.

Master Jia-Yi Lin's Bao Qingtian not only conveyed his image of integrity, but also incorporated "yin and yang elements" that have never been used by others. Bao Qingtian tries the case in yang in the morning and the case in yin during the night. To incorporate Bao Qingtian's characteristic of traveling freely between the yin and yang master, Jia-Yi Lin boldly adds the elements of yin and yang onto Bao Qingtian. For example, on the trousers Bao Qingtian’s

statue, there are two fish, one yin and one yang to form a Tai Chi shape. The dragon's eyes, one black and one white, also conveyed the connection between Bao Qingtian and the yin yang elements.

2,Master Chia-Yi Lin:Nine Dragon Tianmu Jubao

Master Yen’s masterpiece, known as the “Nine Dragon Tianmu Jubao,” extends the lacquer thread sculpting crafts that can only be seen on Buddhist statues. Thus, allowing the work of lacquer thread sculpting to be closer to everyday life without losing its collective value and is comparatively more suitable to display than Buddist statues. Master Yen not only used five different methods to make dragon scales, but he also made the

details of each dragon completely unique. The nine flying dragons, containing auspicious symbols, coiled on the pottery with an intricate feeling. “Nine Dragon Tianmu Jubao” demonstrates master Yen’s dedication to the traditional art of lacquer thread sculpting. Even with the most subtle details, master Yen strives to do his best; with his persistence, he made the “Nine Dragon Tianmu Jubao” selected in the 2014 Taiwan Crafts Competition and displayed in the 2016 presidential office.
