Program requirements

★What do we learn from this activity?

1.Time allocation & control:Learn to make to-do lists to avoid unproductive meetings, and to work on timing during interviews to make sure our questions were answered.

2.Prepared before the interview:Prepared before the interview: Learn to think deeply about all aspects of problems, make sure through our problems, people can know PEN MECH very clearly.

3.Website setup/architecture:Learn how to create the website from a viewer's perspective so we can present the project clearly.

4.Communication between teams: When people have different opinions, we will sit down and let them present their ideas once. Finally, we will decide after rational thinking and feasibility evaluation.

★Main contents:

1.Introduction to small and medium enterprises in Taiwan, sunset industries and hidden champions: through online collection and integration of information, in-depth writing of relevant information on small and medium enterprises in Taiwan.

2.Visit the enterprise’s factories: Through visiting the factory, we learn more about the environment of the factory, mode of operation and how the pen twist is made.

3.The founder of the enterprise & the second-generation successor’s interview: Before we went to the factory, we collect the questions from our team members. During the interview, we do more in-depth interviews with the information we need as part of our website design.

4.Questionnaire Survey: We made some questionnaires about Taiwan’s small and medium enterprises and sent it to all students and teachers as a resource.

★What we have found, learned, and feel surprised:

Everyone had different ideas when deciding on the topic at the beginning, so there was some dispute during the discussion. Later, with the coordination of the teacher, everyone decided the final topic together. As for time planning, due to the early preparation, we took too much time on it so the time for making the website was shortened. Later, we choose a day that everyone has time to go out and do it together. But, It is not so easy to make a website in one day. Fortunately, we have a member who is familiar with doing a website in our group, so we can finish it successfully.
