Features of the church
There are only about thirty pipe organs in Taiwan, one of which is in Liu Yuan Church. Inside the new white chapel is the handmade pipe organ denated by church members in 1998, the centenary of the church’s establishment.
The pipe organ was imported from the Netherland’s biggest pipe organ manufacturer (Pels & Van LeeuwenPels & Van Leeuwen ). The most obvious difference between it and pianos is that the sounds from pipe organs is more sonorous than from pianos, making the atmosphere of the church holy and solemn.
The fee of maintenance of the pipe organs costs about 200~300 thousands NT dollars, which is donated by church members. There’s an organist, Lu Hui Ling, serving for the church and training new organists currently.
