Q1: Why did you establish the association ?
Ans:
The Penmanship Association of Chong Jin was established to gather the cohering force of the members. The principle was very simple, that is " Easy coming, easy go ." That was the rule of the game. Every member came to the association because of loving the culture of penmanship. This was an important feature which made the association be different from others.

There were two kinds of associations . The first one is called graceful clubs. The features of it were : 1. every members all love claaigraphy;however, each member has his or her teacher, and they gathered together to enjoy and demonstrate each other to pursure further progress in the domain of penmanship. The Penmanship Association of Chong Jin was the second type of club of Teacher-Student. There was only one teacher in the association. The purpose of the Teacher-Student type was to preserve the tradition of penmanship. Only the students of the teacher could join and became the members of the association.

The objective of the Penmanship Assiciation of Chong Jin was to obey the penmanship of Wang Xi-Zi in the Zin Dynasty. Passing on an inheritance of penmanship from teacher's teachers. Then, the students had to raise one and infer three in order to increase the number of the association. This was different from passing on an inheritance from parents. The Penmanship Association asked the studentd to pass on the skills and style of penmanship, ever and ever. Every student has different characters and with the method of Zin Dynasty the work has it's own style, but the essense was all the same.

Ans:
The penmanship education in Chong Jin was so called ' private education", which was nothing to do with the government. All the budget of the association was coming from the students. However, the tuition was much less than the other penmanship classes. For other penmanship class, you hand in the tuition, but, the ink, the papers, the pen and the labels should be prepared by yourself. Frankly speak, the tuition of the ass0ciation was only one third of the asscitions outside. The association was aim to promote the culture of penmanship ,not make monkey and become rich. One of the important activities of my class was demonstrate to each other, which could make much more progress than other teaching methods.

Q6、There are four branches of Chong Jin: “ Miao yi””Kuai Xue””Rui Ai”and ”You Iu”.
Ans:
When the numbers of the members were becoming more and more, there would be the need of branches for the need of correction among the members. As a result,There are four branches of Chong Jin: “ Miao yi””Kuai Xue””Rui Ai”and ”You Iu”.

Ans:
In the begin, the address of the association was only in Lu Kang, however, the second class was held in Changhua Culture Center. The penmanship of Lu Kang was still open for the lovers of penmanship. Therefore, there are two addresses of the Chong Jin, but, Lu Kang was the main one. No.34, Wen Kai Rd, Lu Kang Town, Chunghua County

Q8: What is the relationship between the writing brush and the calligraphic style ?
Ans:
If you are good at the penmanship, then, the kinds of the shapes of brushes would be all the same. You could do a good job with all kinds of writing brushes.

Q9、How could we do to preserve the work of penmanship for a long time ?
Ans:
There are several methods for preserving the penmanship: the first one is " adhesive backing"; the second one is making the works as a book. By the way, on the cover of the book, some stone carbonic acid will be used to prevent the works from being biten by the worms. In the present, We can cover the works with newspaper to avoid being biten by the worms, or cover the work with the plastic sheet, camphor balls. " adhesive backing" is also useful.

Q10: How should the beginners choose the brushes ?
Ans:
before the age of Wang Xi-Zi, there was no writing brushes for penmanship. At that time , they use they used the stick pen, just like a chopsticker, to write. In the age of Mon Tain, he improved the writing stick to become a writing pipe with brushes in it. However, he was not the inventor of penmanship.
Frankly speaking, it was very hard to say what was bad writing brushes or good brushes. See what kinds of writing brushes your parents choose, then, follow them to buy the same pens.

Q11: What were your favorate masters of penmanship in the history ?
Ans:
In the history of penmanship, Mr. Wang Xi-Zi was recognized as the best artist of penmanship. If I need a master to copy and imitate to improve my artistic attainment of penmanship, Wang Xi-Zi would be my only choice. Students could not compared to the master for he was always making progress in the domain of penmanship while the students were follow the teacher to practice.

The highest level of master was the Mr. Wang Xi-Zi, and that was the reason why I chose hm to imitate and copy. Besides, this was also the aim og the Penmanship Association of Chong Jin for he was the greastest calligrahgy master in China.

Q12、What is your wish for the penmanship education in Taiwan ?
Ans:
In Taiwan, the best place to teach penmanship is Lu Kang, Xin Zu and Tainan.

In the Ni Chiji age of Taiwan, many of the artists of penmanship came to Taipei, and helped to promote the education of penmanship. There is a feature of the penmanship of Lu Kang, that is, the teachers are good at . the local features of artists of penmanship. During the world War II, there was a trend of teaching the penmanship, the Modern Penmanship School, which the teacher teaches the students to look, not to read instead.Nevertheless, looking the penmanship can't get the meaning of the calligraphy. The Modern Penmanship School in Japan is just like painting. I taught the students of Chong Jin to write calligraphy according to the principle of ancient Chinese styles.

Q13、How do you teach penmanship in Chong Jin?
Ans:
The penmanship education is different from other aslciations. In the ancient time, all the private schools taught penmanship by imitation and copy with writing brushes in the 9 lattices paper. In the Penmanship Association of Chong Jin, I use the labels to teach them, and at the same time, I will explain the meaning of the words in the labels. I never told them to copy or imitate. In the association, I teach them to write labels, knowledge of literure and hand writing.

Q14、How do you help the students who has problems?
Ans:
Learning penmanship is just like learning. During the process of learning, you might meet the period of plateau of stopping making progress. If the learners face this problem, they will feel very disoppointed and upset. Some of them will leave and give up if they don't have a good teacher to do them a favor.

If the students had this problem, I strongly suggest them to stop writing calligrapgy for a while and take a break. How can the students regain the passion of learning penmanship ? There are two methods to help the students to regain the passion of learning peemanship. The first one method is call the Spiral Teaching Method, which the process of teaching penmanship is just like a circle. I will change the different typle and pattern of penmanship to recover their passion of learning penmanship.
