Through three times treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we have two important findings:

A. We used Google Earth to mark the locations of the Burdock fields and the relevant landscapes.

In addition to Burdock fields, we can also see a lot of Burdock-related paintings and art devices in the local. These are characteristics of the local scenes. We used Google Earth to record details of these locations.
(Move mouse to press the "name of the legend" to watch the various photos of the landscapes)

B. Most Burdock fields in Pingtung Gueilai are mainly distributed within a radius of 1 km of the Gueilai railroad station.

We use various methods to collect the locations of the Burdock fields and locate them in the Google MyMaps. We use the distance measurement tool in the Google MyMaps to measure the range of the Burdock fields. 77% of the Burdock fields in the Pingtung Gueilai are concentrated in the range of 1 km of the Gueilai railroad station (24 / 31X100% = 77%).

We used Wednesday afternoon to go treasures-hunting of Gueilai.

The first time treasures-hunting of Gueilai

In the Burdock fields, you could see the spectacular picture of spray of sprinkler ~
Small cotyledons were raising heavy soil with great efforts on the fifth day after we planted them!

This time, we went to do the investigation of the underground spring water next to the Nara Villa, where the spring water was icy! I was curious that why the underground spring water would continue to pour out on turning on the switch?

On the opposite side of underground spring water, there was a large field of green onion. Our teacher told us that a green onion can be reproduced by the use of the mother plant transplanted way! What a really good magic was!

Then, we went to the Burdock field of Mr. Shu. He was a farmer planting Burdock. He said that it is the period of the frost that is suitable for Burdock planting. The Burdock likes the low temperature much. After being planted for five days, Burdock had been sprouting. Small cotyledons were lifting heavy dirt with great efforts! And Mr. Shu also let us see how the sprinkler sprayed. What a really good spectacular it was!

Next, we came to the yam bean field, and the teacher told us that the leaves of the yam bean war triangular. It was a well-known feature of the yam bean. However, the seeds of the yam beans are poisonous, so they are not eatable. Our teacher said that the yam beans taste like pears as juicy, crisp and delicious.

It was the highlight of this activity that we located the Burdock fields along the way by using Google Map app. Because we wanted to know how many the Burdock fields there were in Pingtung Gueilai?

This was really a funny activity!

The second time treasures-hunting of Gueilai

The underground root of Burdock of 26 days old is even 56 cm long. This time, our teacher took us to the community to find the word, Gueilai. Originally, we thought that we must spend a lot of time. We didn't expect that they were opposite our teammate's home. Then we went to the Gueilai railroad station, the local library and other places to find the word.

We also visited the Burdock field of Mr. Shu. This time we want to help to keep the fittest Burdock and to pick up the relatively bad Burdock. Originally, we thought it would be very tired. We did not expect that it was really funny.

As time flew really fast, we picked up a lot of Burdocks. Suddenly, I felt a sense of accomplishment. Mr. Shu also took advantage of this time to show us the original Burdock root of 26 days old. It was 56 cm long.

Then, we came to the green onion field next to the railroad station. We happened to meet Mr. Shu who was transplanting green onions. It was really interesting to see how to plant green onions. After three months, the green would grow from one into a lot.

We also went to the yam bean field to observe. I learned that yam beans would bear purple flowers and farmers would cut off most of the flowers in order that yam beans would grow up.

A small part of the yam beans would be kept, waiting for the results. Because the farmer wanted to save the seeds of yam beans to wait for the season of sowing.

When we looked for Burdock fields, we located more Burdock fields than the last time. Our teacher said that until November, farmers had planted Burdock. December was a good time to observe and record Burdock fields.

The third time treasures-hunting of Gueilai

When we went through the Burdock field, I heard the voice of Burdock. This time, we first visited the yam bean field to take pictures of harvested yam beans. Each yam bean was in different sizes. Although it was said to be sweet and raw one tasted like pear, we still dared not to try it.

Then, we went to Mr's Shu's Burdock field. Burdock had grown taller. The high one had been as high as our waist only after a few weeks. Burdock grew really very fast. When we crossed the Burdock field, we heard the sound of Burdock. Burdock fractured with a loud snap. Our teacher whispered that be careful to move your own paces when we wanted to go through the Burdock field. It was not an easy thing!

Then, we went to the Nara Villa to see the underground springs. There were still underground winter springs. Our teacher said the amount of the underground springs would become small in March to April. Until the rainy season comes in May, the amount of the underground springs will become large.

Locating Gueilai Burdock Fields

What is the scope of the distribution of Burdock fields in Pingtung Gueilai?
This requires our own actual investigation. There is no such information on the Internet.

We collected information on the locations of Burdock fields and located them in Google MyMaps. Then, we used the distance tool in the Google MyMaps (My Maps editing tool) to measure the range of the distribution of the Burdock fields.

As a result, 77% of the Burdock fields in Pingtung Gueilai were found to be concentrated within one kilometer from Gueilai railroad station (24/31 x 100% = 77%).

A. the collection of Burdock fields' information

We collect information about the locations of Burdock fields (section names and land numbers of Burdock fields).

1. The use of published information of the organic certification and the certification of organic transformation on the Delisen's website (Pingtung City vegetable production and marketing class thirteenth).

2. Interviewing Mr. Chu and Mr. Su by phone for section names and land numbers of their Burdock fields. Mr. Chu is the squad leader of Pingtung City vegetable production and marketing class fourteenth. Mr. Su is the squad leader of Pingtung City vegetable production and marketing class first.

3. We went treasures-hunting of Gueilai and used "Google MyMaps App" to locate and record Burdock fields.

B. Using information tools to draw the distribution map of Burdock fields

We used the website of Ministry of the Interior's Cadastral Service to obtain location coordinates and the "Google MyMaps My Maps" to locate the locations of Burdock fields.

Together with the previously locations of the Burdock fields collected by "Google MyMaps My Maps App", we use the "Google Maps My Maps" distance tool to measure the distribution range of Gueilai Burdock fields.

Data collected from us showed that 77% of the Burdock fields of Pingtung Gueilai were concentrated within a radius of 1 km from the Gueilai station(24/31 x 100% = 77%).

From the following figure, you can know the number of the current Burdock fields of Gueilai is thirty-one. Seven Burdock fields are far from the Gueilai station more than 1 km and 24 Burdock fields are far from the Gueilai station less than 1 km.

During the first time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we found Gueilai Burdock fields.

1. Burdock sprouted and it's cotyledons were raising heavy soil.
2. The Burdock field's sprinklers were spraying(on the fifth day after sowing).

During the second time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we touched Gueilai Burdock.

1. We must keep the fittest Burdock and pick up the relatively bad one growing up in the same place after Burdock was planted for twenty-six days.
2. After measuring it, we knew that Burdock root of 26 days old was 56 centimeters long.

During the third time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we caught Gueilai Burdock fields.

1. The Burdock root of 61 days old had been significantly thicker.
2. The height of Burdock leaves had reached up to 50-60 cm.

After 2 months, Burdock seeds planted in November grew taller!

During the first time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we found Gueilai yam bean fields.

The yam beans were sown in Septermber.

During the second time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we found that Gueilai yam beans were in blossom.

After being sown for two months, they were in blossom. The farmer had to cut the flowers of yam beans so that they could grow well.

During the third time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we caught Gueilai yam beans.

Yam beans were harvested in the morning, and were shipped in the afternoon.

During the first time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we found green onion fields.

Green onions were just planted for two weeks.

During the second time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we learned a lot about green onion fields.

1. We met Mr. Shu who was planting green onions.

2. The green onions were planted by means of the transplantation of the mother plant.

During the third time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we found lush green onion fields.

1. Two months later, the green onions had flourished.
2. When we walked into the fields, the green onions there had a really strong penetrating odor.

During the first time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we visited the underground spring next to the Nara Villa.

The underground springs would continue until next April. When the rainy season comes in every May, the amount of spring will become large.

During the second time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we visited another underground spring.

During the third time treasures-hunting of Gueilai, we visited the underground spring next to the Nara Villa again.

In January, the natural underground spring was still pouring out.
