The planting process of Mesona field

 

Grow seedling

This needs about one month. The varieties with rich colloid and Mesona fragrance will be strictly selected for growing seedling. The temperature and humidity should be monitored during the seedling growing. This is the most important first step for maintaining the taste of Mesona.

Planting

Early April with rich rain is the best season for planting Mesona. After planting, the little Mesona gradually shows its vigorous vitality, and starts to extend its leaves one by another under farmers’ laborious care.

Harvest

In order to keep the quality of Mesona, the farmers should select the right moment to pick Mesona. They usually pick Mesona before its blooming season right after the Mid-Autumn Festival, since after Mesona blooms, its colloid distribution will not be even, will be tasted bitter and astringent, and hence cannot be used for drink boiling materials. 

Boiling extraction and end product

The picked Mesona needs to be exposed to the sun for about 5 days until dried out. After strict screening, and cutting thicker and harder stems and leaves, Mesona will be boiled for long time, so that the original taste of Mesona can be released.
