      My grandfather and grandmother said Minquan market used to be very many large in scale. You could buy everything you want and need over there. The market was large and there were many vendors, even my grandfather sold the sugar cane grown by him! Now Minquan market had been rebuilt into a big building, many vendors gather and do business there. It is also a property of Chunghua government. In addition, there are still some changes and landscapes that are worth of visiting. Thus, my classmates and I decided to participate at this internet competition and take this chance to demonstrate the development of Minquan Community.
     In the very beginning, each of us proposed our own opinion regarding the surrounding environment of Minquan market and we combined all these opinion together into a questionnaire and conducted the market survey. All relevant interviews and investigations are actually came out from the discussion between us, but not all such discussion came out with a result, because sometimes there are disagreements between us and affect the progress of whole project.
     However, from such discussion, we know better each other and our relationship are therefore enhanced. By participating internet competition, I have a deeper understanding about Minquan community and realize that it is everyone’s effort to maintain and develop the community. Such competition helps me to acquire a free mind, now I am not staying at home by doing nothing. Now, I will use my leisure time to do the project planning, learn how to manage my time and do what I want to do. Highly appreciate the participation of my classmates, teacher and my parents. With their help, I learned the importance of team work.
    Moreover, when facing challenges, we will try to overcome it, which in the end increase our confidence and help us in establish the ability of solving problems with a clam attitude instead of being panic.

                                                                          

Jiang Blng Yu

     My father said Minquan market was very crowded. Not only residents who live nearby buy stuff in Minquan market, those villages nearby Chunghua also buy stuff there. Especially during lunar New Year holiday, it was often too crowded to walk through. Due to our curiosity, my classmates and I would like to investigate the evolution of Minquan market and Minquan Community by participating internet competition. When we were conducting the questionnaire in the first few times, we were too shy to interact with interviewee. However, after couples of interviews, we gradually gain our confidence and courage. Not being as nervous as in the very beginning, it is all because those interviewees were so kind and friendly to help us in completing the questionnaire. Moreover, we would like to thank Mayor for being able to be interviewed while he is having a very tight schedule. With the help from the head of village and chairman, the progress of our plan were going smoothly. During the interview, the most impressive thing is what the head of village told us: Do your best to gain the recognition from everyone. Sacrifice the enjoyment and enjoy sacrifice. Most of people are looking for the wealthiness of material and spirit. But for me, what makes me happy is having a car to provide my service to those people living in my village. Treat givenness as one kind of happiness. Sharing and helping others are also one kind of happiness. I learned that in order to do thing right, you have to sacrifice. We need to be thankful for what we have. Do not expect how much other will give you, instead you should think about how much you could give other. Upon the completion of website, I learned many philosophies of life, such as the importance of team work. Because of team work, now we have this website and also learned the knowledge of computer. Meanwhile, I gain a lot during this competition and gain a wonderful memory. And I learned that Community development association done a lot for our community, moreover they need residents to join to make the community more prosperous.

      Grandmother said Minquan market was very large with lots of vendors and there were many stores around it. However, with emerge of other markets in different areas, Minquan market was gradually declining. Street vendors were getting fewer than before in numbers and visitors were also declining in numbers. Fortunately, District Office reconstruct the market and gradually bring the market back to its prosperous days. Living in Chunghau for so long, I went to Minquan market several times and have a deep impression for it. When my classmates plan to use Mingquan market and community as the topic of internet competition, I was very happy. But in the beginning, I found there were so many things need to be done, including searching data and filed survey. All these takes lots of time and efforts, but I did learn a lot from participating this event. When designing the questionnaire, we need to think how to arrange the questions. We went to Minquan market for field questionnaire and train ourselves. When interviewing the “Big Guy”, I learned how to treat people and thing well and also learned how they being successful. During the filed investigation, we went through all the information we gathered from internet. And learn how to use computer to make website and design photos. We have done many things that never done before and learned lots of experience. During the participation of internet competition, because it takes lots of time and there were still school works to take care and sometimes the information we found were useless. Under such depression, I have been wanting to quit and give up. Now, I saw the content of website, I have a feeling of achievement. That is the dream that we were striving to make it come true. During the process, we need lots of help and assistance from others and thanks their willingness to help us. Thanks teacher’s advises and father’s patience to teach me how to use computer.      In my memory, grandfather and grandmother had been selling chicken in the market. Grandfather was selling in the Minquan market, while grandmother was selling in the Sanmin market. Thus, my father was grown up in the market, even moving away from market, he still ride us in the streets among market, telling about his childhood and everything in the market. In fact, market was his playground and neighbors were all families, which is quite different than today. Father said lunar New Year is a nightmare for him. When everyone was happy in preparing for holiday, they need to wake up early and assist in the market. When I was young, I could get used to traditional market and always feel there were lots of different smells in the air. The market were crowded and full of people, totally different than hyper store’s clean and comfortable environment. Until these years, I found there were great improvement in the Minquan market. The vendors and parking lots were organized, which make purchase more easy and convenient. By this internet competition, I start to search for the history of Minquan market and everything about Minquan community. Those are all the stuff I would never do before. Although I was being refused several times when looking for adviser for my questionnaire, which frustrated us greatly. But with the faith of “you get chance when you ask”, we finally achieve our goal.Previously, the computer were a difficult for me. By participating the internet competition this time, I learned from zero and getting progress in using computer. It was an interest experience when use photoshop for the first time. When I saw the gradual formation of my website, I felt a sense of achievement. And because of internet competition, there were many first time experience. First time making website. First time visiting mayor and first time investigating the community culture. All these enrich the life of my junior high school.

   Minquan market is a memory of my mother. Her childhood was around Minquan market. At that time, grandfather often take her to eat traditional food and each food was full of memory of her childhood. But since year 1987’s Typhoon, when Minquan market was hitted seriously. It was only later that Minquan market recover to what it was. However, as time goes by, Minquan market appeared old and shabby and was facing the fate of phasing out. It was City government’s effort to reconstruct the market and make it clean and well organized, which make it different from traditional market’s impression of being sticky in smell, humid and crowded. The Minquan market after its reconstruction seems bigger like a hypermarket with brightness, clean and not crowded impression. My mother told me that I should take this chance to explore a different perspective of Minquan market, a different place with an old smell and the friendliness of traditional market. This is Minquan market, a market touch me by mother’s description. In the beginning, I thought it was only simple activity by making and designing a website, nothing difficult. But when I continued to make website, I realized that there are many content that I do not understand. Thus, I ask the help from my classmates. And under the assistance of my teacher and parents, I learned how to proceed and gain the experience of interviewing people. From making website, selecting topic, questionnaire design and upload to website, I acquired lots of fun and experience. From being unfamiliar to familiar, I learned a lot during the whole process. After all, it was really interesting to participate this internet competition.
