As a person from Kuanmiao, it is crucial to know the history of this community. According to historical records , in the Ming period, Zheng Chenggong
expelled the Dutch in Taiwan, and implemented a new farming system. Thus, the whole Tainan was only a part of million year state. After that, many warfares occurred, and the name of Kuanmiao was changed several times. Until 1950, the offical name was settled down -Kuanmiao, which is named by a historical temple in this place.

The routes around Bo Dong elementary school.

Bo Dong elementary school is located in Tainan city Kuanmiao District, and is a very small one. There are only around one hundred students in this school, which is located between the city and the countryside. However, the truth is that the location of the school is pretty awkward because people would consider it is located at a convenient position. In fact, there are only several industries and pineapple fields around the school. Therefore, its conditions cannot be compared with urban schools. Moreover, due to the degression of economy, companies in the area have become less, which caused the reduction of population. The less people come to the communities, the more posibilities the school will be downsized.

We want the students’ family members can participate this project. During the process, they could understand what have the students learnt. Besides that, The pineapple festival helped students learn to express themselves, and loads of rewards and compliments were obtained from their presentation. The school’s brand is also well estabilished in peoples’ meind.

1. The main goal of the project is to explore the local fruit’s charateristics. To acheive the goal, we used field trips to inspire students thinking and build up a healthy learning environment.
2. Through the conversations with different areas experts and farmers, students cultivated their life experences and learnt to respect others.
3. Bedises that, technologies were used to help students elevate their thinking in order to connect to the whole world. In this way, students not only have learnt different perspectives but also have constructed their creative thinkings.
