★Drafting of Content
After collecting all the necessary information, we began to draft the content of our website. It was at this time that I realized the real challenge of the CyberFair competition is drafting the content.
Compared to drafting the content of our website, the challenges of transcribing and writing personal reflections were not worth mentioning. Transcribing is simply a documentation of what people say during interviews, and it does not require too much thinking. Personal reflections from the field observations and interviews are even easier and much more interesting to work on. Since we saw various facilities and the applications of the JW Eco-Technology, we have much to gain from and reflect on, though we still need to pay close attention to the flow and grammar of our writing.
My first article for the website was the introduction of the Xindian Water Resources Agency. At first, I thought the details of the content would be similar to those from our reflections, but I was wrong. My teacher rejected the 600-word piece of writing I worked so hard on and felt so proudly about. She said "reflections" are narrative text, and they can include personal opinions and feelings. However, "introductions" are expository text, and they need to be easy-to-understand facts. In other words, I had included too much unnecessary information. I learned that more is not always better.
