Water Soil Aquatic Plants are the three main factors of the wetland.

 

 

The zone of wetland between land and water.
The surface is often covered by shallow water.

The Ramsar Convention defines wetland are areas of marsh, fan, peatland or water, wheather natural or artificial ,permanet or temporary , with water that is static or flowing, fresh, brackish or salt, including areas of marine water the depth of which at low tide does not exceed six meters.

 

Why is defined as 6 meters?

The reason is that Western countries by the perspective of seabirds , found that more than six meters of water depth can not forage , so the definition of wetlands is six meters below.
