The name Maokong is because the relationship between potholes terrain. The Potholes is often to found on the upper of the riverbed, since the stream rush the recess just walking around in circles, after a long time, water will grind many circular holes on stone surface which called potholes. Because of the potholes, the residents called them "wrinkled hole" (similar to Maoking in Taiwanese), therefore the potholes is a must-see scenery in the tour of Maoking.

After the Tea Promotion Center, you will see a TuDiGong temple as well as the Stamping pavilon on the ZhiNan temple Maokong hiking trail, which is the 19th trails of Taipei mountain stamping fun, you can go down into the pothole trails along the indicators, along the eco stairs trail, handrails with tea image and a teapot landscape, let us not help but smile. In addition, there are also kittens style chairs to combine the imagery of "cat". The most attraction in the potholes is a seven-meter suspension bridge with barricaded rope, limitation of three persons to walk, I feel very special when walking on, to hold the rope with a bit shaking, it’s very funny. On the rope bridge, you can clearly see the pothole in water because of clear water, it is said, they can clams fishing previously in the pothole! although there is no clams but the fish & bugs are still visible.

Transportation:
You can drive along the ZhiNan Road Sec. 3, to enter from the Teapot Pavilion, or turn left after exit of cable station, along the ZhiNan Road Sec. 3 to go toward, after TienEnGong temple and TieGuanyin & BaoZhong Tea Promotion Center, you will pass through Stamping pavilion, to find the indicators to Pothole trail, according to the indicators which is a shortcut.
