We visited a place where Yang Kui once lived--- Tunghai Garden. On the way to Tunghai Garden, there were tombs and untrimmed weeds which made the place very desolate. Finally, after walking past a large incinerator, we saw our destination “Tunghai Garden”. Yang Kui's tomb is located in the garden.
We stepped forward silently, looking at his “peace declaration” carved on his tomb which led him into jail, revealing his love and expectation to the country he loved.
There are tall trees, green maples, bottle palms and various plants. Although the site is a little messy, those plants still grow in their own order.
Yang Kui is like a famous American writer, Henry David Thoreau, whose cabin built beside the Walden Lake is now the holy land for all the people who like American literature. If Tunghai Garden can be restored, people who like Taiwan literature will have our own holy land to touch our own greatness of literature. But why did the city hall transform the treasured garden into a graveyard?

Tunghai Garden had previously been looked after by Yang Kui carefully. But the first time we saw it, we only found a garden that has changed beyond recognition and full of weeds. Besides our astonishment, we decided to try our best to tidy it up.
When we went to Tung Hai garden at 12/23 again, we brought all the weeding tools we might need. After discussing with our teacher and pals, we decided to build a new road which people can go through more conveniently and safely.
But there was too much garbage for us to start getting rid of at first, so we began our action with garbage picking. Time passed so quickly. When we finished our work and saw a clean garden, we felt a sense of fulfillment.
In addition, there were three helpers from Stella Matutina Girls' High School
who, after hearing of our plan, decided tp join us. We were in great pleasure to have more companions.
