Lee Chin-chuan was a traditional craftman, he returned to home town Tonshiao for construction of a shrine. He was skillful for sculpting the folktale roles and won a reputation of master with Mr. Wuloson in Sanyi and Mr. Leeyuzan of Miaoli in local craft market. Nevertheless the 3 persons found the sculpture business in Tonshiao of Miaoli ctounty. Lee Chin-chuan inherited the wooden craft heritage to deliver the cultural legacy to his apprentices.

In 1953, Lee Chin-chuan was invited to restore the Mazu shrine and responsible for sculptures at Tonxiao in Miao-li County, Ju Ming attached himself to the sculptor Lee Chin-chuan to learn carving and painting under the command of his father thus laid down firm foundations for his future development. Lee Chin-chuan has said “ If you want to carve well, you should know how to sketch. You shouldn’t just carve according to the patterns and design of others. Sculptors whodon’t know how to sketch are like architects who don’t draw a design plan.” Ju Ming keeps the words in mind and tasted the beauty and power of the carving shape.
