Why did you join the Bu-Ma troupe? And when? |
Xu: I joined when I was a fourth grader. My dad asked me to join.
Huang: Me too. I was deeply attracted by the performance. My mom agreed. |
Did your parents agree with your participation? |
Huang: Yes. Mom said it’s good and I have to promise to study hard. |
Is it tough? And why? |
Xu: It was hard in the beginning because I had to wave the flag all the time. And now I am used to it.
Huang: No. I love Bu-Ma dance. |

Xu and Huang: Don’t talk and be on time when practice. |
Are you nervous on the stage? How do you overcome it? |
Xu: Yes. Concentrate my attention on performance and don’t stare at the audience.
Huang: Yes. I can not help from smiling when I am nervous. Miss Chen Binbin (instructor) asks us to smile while dancing, so I just keep smiling. |
Does your family support your participation? |
Xu: Yes.
Huang: Yes. And my mom always wants to go out with me. |
Does the performance give you a sense of achievement? |
Xu: Yes. I want to dance for others.
Huang: Yes. I will keep dancing until I finish primary school. |
What is the advantage of joining the Bu-Ma troupe? |
Xu: I have learned the skills of Bu-Ma dance.
Huang: I feel more at ease when I am on the stage and I’m not afraid anymore to face the audience. |
