Interview with the students of Bu-Ma troupe

Interview and Introduction
  They are the members of Bu-Ma troupe. They should have a profounder feeling and experience than we. By interviewing them, we could have a better understanding of the Bu-Ma dance.

Question Answer
Why did you join the Bu-Ma troupe? And when? Because I wanted to enrich myself by doing something meaningful and Bu-Ma dance is a feature of Hakka spirits. I joined when I was a fourth grader.
Is it tough? And why? No. I am used to this kind of practice.
Please name one of the rules of Bu-Ma troupe. No dirty words.
Are you nervous on the stage? How do you overcome it? Yes. By drinking beverages.
Does your family support your participation? Yes, a strong support.
 Does the performance give you a sense of achievement? Yes. I can win the praise.
What is the advantage of joining the Bu-Ma troupe? My physical strength is increasing and I am getting better at PE.
Q & A during the interview with Xu Yuqian and Huang Yujie
Question Answer
Why did you join the Bu-Ma troupe? And when? Xu: I joined when I was a fourth grader. My dad asked me to join.
Huang: Me too. I was deeply attracted by the performance. My mom agreed.
Did your parents agree with your participation? Huang: Yes. Mom said it’s good and I have to promise to study hard.
Is it tough? And why? Xu: It was hard in the beginning because I had to wave the flag all the time. And now I am used to it.
Huang: No. I love Bu-Ma dance.
Please name one of the rules of Bu-Ma troupe. Xu and Huang: Don’t talk and be on time when practice.
Are you nervous on the stage? How do you overcome it? Xu: Yes. Concentrate my attention on performance and don’t stare at the audience.
Huang: Yes. I can not help from smiling when I am nervous. Miss Chen Binbin (instructor) asks us to smile while dancing, so I just keep smiling.
Does your family support your participation? Xu: Yes.
Huang: Yes. And my mom always wants to go out with me.
Does the performance give you a sense of achievement? Xu: Yes. I want to dance for others.
Huang: Yes. I will keep dancing until I finish primary school.
What is the advantage of joining the Bu-Ma troupe? Xu: I have learned the skills of Bu-Ma dance.
Huang: I feel more at ease when I am on the stage and I’m not afraid anymore to face the audience.
Please share your opinion in relation to the cultural heritage of Bu-Ma. Xu: I am very proud that I have learned the skills that have handed down from generation to generation.
Huang: I will invite my friends to join in.
What we have learned:
  Bu-Ma dancing is not only a Hakka tradition but also a good way to keep healthy and lose weight. I want to join, too. There are three types of Bu-Ma dance in CPES. The first one is traditional. The second one is inline skating and this troupe is made up of inline skaters which Chen Kewei belongs to. The third one is a modern Bu-Ma dance and the Bu-Ma is made of plastic.
