Ask custom, learn custom, yet save one chance for myself who can still be filled.
~ Hsing-Wu Huang
[Note 1]

Profile PictureHsing-Wu Huang is a native in Xianxi. He was born in 1964 and attended Siansi Elementary School and Hsien-Hsi Junior High School for the compulsory education. He then went to study at National Changhua Industrial Vocational High School. After this, he had some training in an industrial junior college. He is now studying in the Commercial Design department of Taizhong Technology University. He lives by the sea. He pastured cattle before, and had a splendid life when he was young. After military service, he worked in Formosa Plastics Group and had great income.

Later he resigned and put himself into local culture heritage business, since he has a deep affection and interest in traditional arts. He teaches arts, humanities, and school clubs for school. He is very interested in traditional arts, and he is very good at shadow play and dough arts. He is currently a teacher of the collaboration transition class and club at our school, teaching various folk arts. He has writing considerably for and about local language. [Note 2]

Hsing-Wu Huang and his two brothers Hsing-pin and Hsing-wen have been very close since they were little, because their family was poor in their childhood. Hsing-Wu Huang had excellent academic achievements. Even though the family was poor, he worked very hard to improve, and since heaven helps those who help themselves, he graduated with the honor of the County Magistrate award. In his school years, he worked part-time and purchased a cheap urhu, flute, and Chinese flute for self-entertainment. These instruments became the best extracurricular activities for these brothers. Perhaps due to the memories of this period of time, even after starting his career, entering the Formosa Plastics Group by examination, and later becoming a supervisor, he still resolutely resigned from his job because of his deep interest in shadow play. He then attentively devoted his time to teaching the art of dough and shadow play. He also founded Jingxin Folk Craft Organization with brothers, Hsing-pin and Hsing-wen. [Note 3] He believed life is short, so a person should chase his dream if he has any. Traditional art is the dream he wants to chase, and is a dream that will come true.
