Brick Carving -- DIY Experience

After Mr. Chang’s explanation and demonstration, we started to make our D-I-Y products. At first, we got the brick adobe in the shape of rectangle. When we put all the adobe on the desk, we placed one picture on each adobe and then depicted the lines with plastic knives. After taking off the pictures, we continued to depict the lines even harder to make the outline of the pictures more clearly. Then, we took off the parts which we didn’t need and finally we got our D-I-Y works of art.

After D-I-Y, we found that the brick carving was not as difficult as we had thought at first. However, we needed to concentrate on the carving carefully. When we saw our works, we felt a sense of achievement for what we had done.

Here are some pictures we took when we were carving the bricks. It was such a special experience that we won't forget it forever. Maybe you should come and try it by yourself someday.

Here are some pictures about our semi-finished works. Although it's our first time to carve the bricks, we were all excited to do it. How about our art works? Aren't they beautiful and professional? Just take a close look at them.

We also took pictures of the tunnel kiln. It looks cleaner and more modern than we originally think.

With our hard work and after hours' waiting, we finally got our art works. Each of us holds a carved brick PROUDLY in our hands!!! These are not common bricks. These are art works. Even more, these are our pride. I think we will just keep the bricks at home and let our children and grandchildren appreciate the beauty of the carved bricks, especially for those we made by ourselves.

▲ Be proud of our efforts and results.
