| After many discussions, we made up our mind to set our topic on Ding Tai Fung. Why is it Ding Tai Fung? At first, I wanted to choose this topic so we could visit Ding Tai Fung and we could also eat Ding Tai Fung’s steamed pork dumplings. We went to Ding Tai Fung’s 101 restaurant several times when we were making Ding-Tai-Fung’s website. The most unforgettable memory was going into their kitchen and helping them to roll the dough. Before we went in the kitchen, we had to wear their aprons, hats and masks. Next, we had to wash our hands. In order to provide high quality food, every procedure was requested strictly. We have also seen their mechanical steamer. Serving students from Yilan Ci-Sain Elementary School was also a valuable experience. From this serving experience I learned the skill of serving guest, the attitude of serving and the spirit of serving. When we visited Mr. Yang, what he said deeply impressed me. Mr. Yang said, “Despite of what you do, as long as you try your best, you can have good results.” Toward the end of our project, we were going to create a small game and put it on our website. We had to put questions in the game and some buttons as options. I thought it would be very hard to make the game because we already made a game last summer vacation. It was very hard and I always could not keep up with progress. This time, some of my classmates’ computers froze so their works were all wasted and they had to start all over. Luckily, my computer did not freeze on me. Although it was very hard to create the game, when we finished our work, the sense of achievement thought it was all worthy. |
