Pagu Mountain Environmental Conservation Organization(PMECO) established yesterday. PMECO started the activity to rehabilitate the tylophora and birhtwort for caterpilliars around Cingshueiyan Temple.

Precious Gunther's Frog Protect Them at Home!	2003-10-23　Udn News
1. The director of the PMECO, Chang, Hung-Chih, found the precious Gunther's frog around Cingshueiyan in Shetou yesterday. Chang mentioned that this kind of frog is also called rain monster and was once numerous;however, they are endangered by people. Chang found a tadpole and a frog and restored them and released them.

Insects are very active in summy. The ecologist Chang,Hung-Chih restored and breeded the stag beetles for people to understand the growth of them and therefore set up a good example for ecology conservation.

The PMECO worked with the Cingshueiyan Temple to publish the visitor's guide which introducing the historic spots and ecological environment around Cingshueiyan with the hope to promote the ecology education and help people to have a better understanding about Pagu Mountain.

The trenches in Cingshueiyan were threaten by drought, residents' gorge-walking. The director of the PMECO, Chang, Hung-Chih said that the geothelphusa albogilva was therefore threatened by the deceasing trenches and needed to be protect.

The PMECO worked hard on restore the Xylotrupes dichotomusin Cingshueiyan and the effects were quite well. The amount of Xylotrupes dichotomusin and stag beetles increases in recent years, however, some people still catch those insects for sale illegally. That endangers the Xylotrupes dichotomusin and stag beetles. Therefore, the PMECO appealed the government to do something for it!
