The mission of TECO Foundation is to “cultivate technological expertise, advocate advanced knowledge and promote social progress.” They advocate for the integration of science and humanity. TECO has inspired entrepreneurs to make contributions to social services. TECO’s founder of Mr Huang and board director Mr Kuo are my good friends for many years. They have made devotions to establishing Exclamation Point , collaborating with many other organizations and supporting aboriginal groups.●How would you help the aboriginal people if you were an entrepreneur?
If I were an owner of an enterprise, I would bear the idea of “What is taken from the society, repay it to the society.” Just like TECO Technology Foundation, I would support and help needy people. I would not only provide the aboriginal children their daily necessity but also assist on preserving their culture.
●TECO Technology Foundation has been giving awards to professionals in the science field and working on educational projects focused on creativity. What do think their activities have benefited our country?
“Creativity” is an indicative of labor quality. We need creativity to enhance effectiveness in governmental services, scientific development, art creativity and business management. The foundation of our country lies upon the education of creativity. Therefore, it should be emphasized on our youngsters. Teachers should be equipped with values of creative teaching. TECO Technology Foundation has been promoting creative education all over the country. Their dedication has been very inspiring.

TECO Technology Foundation is a very proficient organization. They are very enthusiastic in their profession. They have provided great assistance to the recordings of Tai Wu Elementary School children chorus.
In the past, we had a tight budget. There wasn’t enough money to pay for the expenses. Thanks to TECO Technology Foundation, they have provided us ample funds for learning and singing. The children are so interested in singing. With the help of TECO Technology Foundation, we are able to tour the whole country and carry forward our Paiwan culture. Our dreams are realized and that makes us feel proud to be a Paiwan.
Songs are the easiest way of learning for the aboriginal children. Through tribal songs, the children learn traditional lifestyles of the tribe, including rituals, customs…etc. From them, the children can realize our tribal wisdom and pride. So, it is important to provide the children with opportunities on stage and encouragement and applause. It’s vital to boost up their confidence.
With the support of TECO Technology Foundation, Wu Lu elementary school is able to set up performance stage, purchase stage facilities and costumes as well as recruit teachers. With the educational subsidy, our children learn more about Bunnan culture and ways of preserving and passing on our tradition.
The dance troupe started in Pei Pu Elementary School, where Mr. Chuang has been a PE teacher. After the students graduated, Mr. Chuang felt it’s a pity to see children stop learning dance due to economic reasons. Therefore, he and his wife determined to establish a dance troupe in 2005. They provide free lessons and even invited famous dancers in Taipei. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoons, they have rehearsals in Pei Pu Aboriginal Culture Center. They have won many awards in competitions.
