We decided to visit to see the real Smangus.

Our main topic is regarding Smangus. We did not know about the place at the beginning but we became very interested in Smangus after the teacher’s explanation.
The Smangus tribe has many different names. One is the Tribe of the God and the other is the Dark Tribe. It makes us confused. Why the Tribe of the God is called the Dark Tribe as well. This was a really odd and a mystery place for us. To solve the riddle we decided to choose this mystery place as our study topic.
Once the topic was decided, we started to plan how to solve the riddle of Smangus. We collected information from internet, books, and other individual resources. We almost studied the related information every day and we invited native Taiwanese experts to have an address for us to increase our knowledge regarding native Taiwanese culture.
Usually we studied the data which we found by ourselves in advance then discussed the important parts with our teacher. We will list down the major summaries and build out the structure of the project. During this study period, the computer became one of my best friends and sometimes I wonder if I am getting blind!
Although we already have some ideas regarding the Smangus tribe, it is still not very familiar with the place. So we decided to visit to see the real Smangus. Smangus is an excellent place with fresh air and magnificent view. We interviewed four key persons including the head of the tribe , general manger, the son of the head of the tribe and priest. My responsibility was interview the priest.
At the beginning, the priest played the harmonica and told us this is a welcomed ceremony for the Smangus tribe. It is surprised me that the priest was a very funny, vivid, energetic and easygoing person because most of people thought the priests are very serious and strict men. He greatly changed the image of Priest in my mind to a better one.
After completed interviews, we need to compile the information into summaries regarding the people who we met and the story what we heard. The number of summaries increased and we worked harder and faster, but we enjoyed it. Finally, we finished whole article. However the most important thing is still waiting for us, translation.
How terrible it is to translate the article into English! To translate story or a fairy tale is fine but to translate native Taiwanese tribe culture was a big challenge because it includes particular proper nouns which cannot found or checked in English books, dictionaries and on the internet. This is the hardest part for us.
In order to attack more interesting of our internet page, we added some funny games and this was also a difficult task. To design game especially those that require compute programming, is hard. Even though we could ask our teacher to help us but she could not help 20 students at the same time.
I have a very good and bad time during study the topic. Personally I prefer the good times to the bad times, however, no pain no gain.
