After land sharing, the tribe started a through land planning. The tribe footpath is displaying the woodcarvings of aboriginal tribes, which is related to the tribe stories. All the numbers of the house's plate are marked with wooden totems. The tribal buildings maintain the model of Atayal's traditional architecture. Sometimes the skeleton of the buildings is replaced by a steel structure only for the safety reasons.They never build concrete buildings but take the wood and bamboo as the main building materials with slate roofs, so that all visitors to the Smangus can feel the sense of the original village deeply.

In order to improve the quality of guide, the Smangus take part in guide training actively for one month, which is sponsored by Shei-Pa National Park. This lesson not only lets tribes pass through the test and obtain the certificate but also significantly improve the explanation of guide skills. So every tourist can enjoy a free tour guide. The attentive service is one of the factors that makes Smangus become a popular eco-tourism scenic spot!
