Tourism brought visitors, money and blind competition in the tribe. People in Smangus decided to follow the rules of their ancestors. They managed the beautiful homeland that their ancestors left behind with Gaga Spirit. Therefore, they came to the same idea to run the business together. |
As the saying goes, “God helps those help themselves.” Their selfless sharing spirit impressed their God and there came a church member who worked in tourism business. He introduced the ideas of “Israel’s Kibbutz” to the residents in Smangus. |
Kibbutz means communal settlement in Hebrew. It's a residential organization that ran the settlement with the spirit of cooperation and socialism. They shared all the properties, and cooperated to produce, consume and receive education together to operate their homeland. |
To run the common business model more smoothly, Presbyterian Church even helped Smangus people visit Israel in 2003. |
The democratic operation pattern and experiences of Israelite Kibbutz inspired the people in Smangus a lot. Therefore, they decided to cooperate well to operate their village. |
