Due to the establishment of the route, more and more tourists came to Smangus. The tribes began providing bed and breakfast service to meet the tourism boom.

Being located in the mountains and long time closed society has made Samngus’ primitive style retained. Tourists were amazed at the vitality of red cypress group. On the way to visit the giant tree groups, tourists would see lush bamboo forest, steep broken Stone cliffs, the valley surrounded by mountains, and Silifu waterfall, making Smangus more and more famous. Through word of mouth, Smangus became one of the most popular attractions. Crowds of tourists had driven locals to set up B&B and restaurants.

Crowds of visitors have brought economic improvement to Smangus but also laid the root of future’s disputes.
